With the legendary Pasadena stadium just hosting an incredible game and the Coliseum hosting its first nfl playoff game in over 2 decades, which is the better venue for a sporting event?

Coliseum is in the hood. Easy choice.
Rose bowl

Rose Bowl. Not close.
The coliseum is damn near in Compton.
Both stadiums are dumps though and in bad need of renovations, guess Coliseum will get that for Olympics,

Rose Bowl needs some serious work.

Not that far at all but really it's in downtown LA
Eta I guess the neighborhood is Exposition park which is less than 5 miles from Compton and also close to downtown

Coliseum is more legendary though. No other active venue, possibly in the world, except for maybe Wembley has the history of that place as far as multi sport, international competition and legendary status.
And in '28, it will host its third oleic games...
If they'd ever remodel it and transform it into the 21st century while still keeping the architecture, it would be incredible.

I'm sure they're going to make it nice for the Olympics

Rose Bowl and it’s not really that close.
At least from a viewing perspective I think it’s clearly the Rose Bowl.

Coliseum is more legendary though.

I always laugh at people that say things like usc or the Coliseum is next to Compton. Clearly they have never been there.

The Rose Bowl always looks great on tv. Exterior doesn’t look bad, press box looks nice. When people say it needs work, is it infrastructure work?

After checking again you're right the Coliseum is over 10 miles from Compton. I've been to the Natural history museum right there but never inside the Coliseum. That's still not the greatest area. Lots of homeless people and generally low income neighborhood.

Rose bowl but it’s close. Both are iconic.

Coming from laffy, nothing in Cali would seem like the hood

To the west and south it is bad especially towards Crenshaw
To the north is USC and that area is pretty
East is downtown
I love LA FTR, been out there many times
We went to the rose bowl and the coliseum on one trip
both venues were open and we just walked in and stood on the field. Nobody said a word to us
Rose Bowl is surrounded by a neighborhood and is in a Canyon. Really pretty. I can’t imagine Game day traffic in and out of there. Pasadena is a beautiful town
