Which intrigues you more?
What are the Pros & Cons of both?

A lot of black players near Georgia Tech.
Stanford has terrible fan support.

Georgia Tech is not actively sabotaging its football program as far as I know. Can’t say the same about Stanford.

Stanford is only a few years removed from an NY6 Bowl and a string of appearances in them before the last one. So they’ve had somewhat more recent success and a big stage presence. I wanna lean Stanford but feel like the ACC is probably the easier conference for a new coach to rebuild in right now.

Stanford literally hates fun

You could shut GT football down, and it wouldn't cause any uproar in GA.
Are most of the ticket holders at Stanford alumni? How much popular support does it get?
GT football has a more storied history, but Stanford is probably a more recognized national brand overall.

Stanford is not participating in NIL. NO matter what you think of NIL, you wont have a choice but to participate.. they will be irrelevant as a conference contender. That combined with academic restrictions, I would take almost any other P5 job.

Stanford doesn't have Atlanta attached to it at the hip. PAC and ACC are a wash. Same academic profile.

It's Tech.
Yes, you're in the shadow of UGA and a complete afterthought in your own state. There's out of state competition coming after GA talent, all the time.
However, Tech can be invigorated. They were gaining in popularity under O'Leary, and they made UGa's life miserable for a while. A series of underwhelming and poor hires followed, and you have a generation of Georgians who forget that GT has ever been relevant.
The right guy, with the right work ethic, can make GT an ACC powerhouse. May not be able to beat UGa with any consistency, but you can absolutely win the ACC and sneak into a playoff or two.

GaTech.
GT: Epicenter of college football.
Stanford: Place where they want to ban football.
Both have similar academic issues and lack of fan support (alumni and zero sidewalk)

Stanford has a shot at the Big10...they can leave without the UC system Cal (who nobody wants) and I think with the right coach would thrive in the Academic Big10.
It's a shite job now...but would be a great recruiting job in the Big10 environment and getting that Stanford degree would be bigger than a Michigan or Rutgers or NW degree. I think Stanford would recruit gangbusters in the Big10...if they just finally sold out the diploma as an NIL deal...got kids who can barely read but get the diploma as payment.

If it’s really dumb kids that would have in no way sniffed getting a Stanford diploma regularly and probably completely “failed” a test to even qualify for applying:
1) they wouldn’t give a shite about a Stanford diploma
2) nobody would take them seriously even with a Stanford diploma

stanford
huge state for recruiting, you dont have to leave the state. you will get kids from other states who want to go to stanford. It is a very prestigious university.

I’d say Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech’s administration is willing to play ball when it comes to getting kids admitted initially whereas Stanford makes it much harder to get in. This difference between the two is even more stark when it comes to transfers. In an era where non-top tier programs like Stanford and Tech would benefit from being able to bring in guys out of the portal, Stanford makes it much harder to get transfers admitted than Tech.
Another problem you encounter is with kids that graduate with an extra year of eligibility. Tech’s administration works with the athletic department to get kids into a grad program whereas Stanford grad schools are much more unwilling to play ball.
When it comes to college football, so much of your success depends on talent acquisition and retention. Tech beats Stanford on all fronts from a pure working with the administration perspective.
Agreed that both programs can pull from good recruiting grounds, but both are second fiddle to other big programs in the region. I can’t speak to facilities at Stanford (although tech’s facilities stink). Now if you’re a coach and money is your main concern, my assumption would be that Stanford can pony up a lot more money for you and your staff than a place like Tech.

A salary of $3.6 mil is the same as $7mil at Stanford.
Could afford a condo, lake house, and a beach house in south for cost of average house in Pablo Alto area.
GT coach could earn generational money and potentially assemble a team that could compete for ACC title with SEC recruit rejects.
GT is in eastern time zone and people will see the games.

Stanford is about to have a much crappier conference. Could be easier to win.
