Who would want to bet this exhibition?
And are or are they not wearing head-gear, there's been conflicting reports.
And Tyson on Rogan says he can't function as a human being these days without smoking weed all day.
He also said the first day he trained for this fight, he was in bed for a week.

This just isn’t true. He said he stopped when he started training.

People who really know their boxing never have mike at the top or really close to it.
But many put his early career vs any of top fighters.
Mike as a youngin was mean and hit fricking hard. I've talked to the local boxing guy who is respected in the field, and he said Early Mike, before Givens, the fame, would beat anyone up.
He was that mean and hungry, but he didnt have the career many thought he would. But his head was fricked over by givens females, trainer, and others in the sport. He wasn't very bright to begin with, they mind fricked him bad.
And i was never a Tyson fan, i liked holyfield

Yes, there are more degenerate bets made. Never said it was the most degenerate thing to gamble on.
Do you know what grappling is? ya, me either, but I've bet on it.

this reminds me of McGregor/Mayweather where for whatever reason a bunch of dumb money came in on connor. I even watched the pay per view at a small gathering and was shocked to find how many people (even on this board) thought mcgregor would beat arguably the best boxer ever

quote:Height and reach doesn’t matter as much when it’s someone like Mike Tyson who likes to fight in the inside and has insane power... but Nate Robinson is just tiny.
I’ve heard Paul is a legit athlete, but I can’t believe anywhere to the level of Nate Robinson. Can Jake Paul dunk? Nate Robinson was a NBA dunk contest winner, yes size/reach matters, but not when there is this much of an athletic difference. Someone that can reach the level of NFL or NBA is a different animal.
He’s not going to be a skilled enough boxer to overcome a reach advantage and utilize an athletic advantage. And this is boxing... it doesn’t matter if he can dunk.
Raw athleticism is more important in MMA than boxing.

Also Roy Jones Jr did a track with mike jones where he kinda goes off

This
Muhammad Ali was asked about the best of the modern era on Arsensio Hall (1989 ish) and named Tyson.
His superiority relied upon his conditioning, his punching power, his speed, athleticism, and rage. His reliance on speed would have never allowed him to remain elite in his 30s especially because he always fought much taller men. The fall from greatness hit harder than it should have when his training and management changed but his peak was truly awesome.
Roy Jones was a less fundamentally sound boxer than Tyson but was a great puncher and really was more respected by casual fans than knowledgeable boxing fans.

Good post. Very few people will actually say Mike is the greatest ever because he wasn't. What he was was the best in a particular set of years. From 19-21 no one was beating Tyson as a heavyweight. He was so hungry and was actually learning well until King and the leaches got involved. At that point fame took over and he didn't really work to improve his craft. But in those early years he hit too hard, too fast and had a really tight, strong guard mixed with outstanding head and shoulder movement. He was really something special. And mean. He was living the dream getting paid to beat people up.

Mike is going to knock Roy’s dick in the dirt by the second round

This isnt degenerate at all. Actually very normal bet. Hell ive bet on much worse... actual wwe predetermined match, bangladesh soccer, mid week day horse races i have no clue who is in it.

Jones is a boxing legend that stayed in boxing way, way to long tarnishing his legacy. I thought the guy was the best boxer-puncher I ever saw with his incredible speed and all. Then along comes Tarver and his career starts going downhill. But something about the Tarver fight just makes me believe he (Jones) threw it, had money on it or some shite. Jones had been beating Antonio Tarver like fighters his whole career, now all of a sudden he's getting hit easily by Tarver. Lol

Tyson was over rated.
He was great but when he matched up against the generational talents of the era he fell short.
Holyfield and Lewis were much better

quote:Yeah I had no idea he was fighting until now but it looks like he's taking it very seriously. He started at corner for UW before he went football full time so he's not afraid of contact.
Nate Robinson will murk him, he is a lot smaller but is a world class elite athlete.

Ever hear of Denis Lebedev?
He knocked out Roy Jones.
Good luck thinking a focused Mike Tyson can't.

Max Kellerman said it best, "McGregor has less than a 0% chance of winning against Mayweather."
If this fIght is legit...same for Roy. Roy should not be in the ring with me...let alone Mike Tyson.

Roy was so bad at the end of his career. If I'm betting it will be on Tyson, but probably will pass.
