West Monroe HS Beat Midland Lee High
West Monroe pulled off the big upset this week, handing former No. 4 Midland Lee a 36-8 thumping. West Monroe held running back Cedric Benson to "only" 157 rushing yards on 22 carries, but that included an 80-yard TD run that accounted for Lee's only scoring. Otherwise, the defense was fantastic, forcing five turnovers. West Monroe running back J.J. Johnson stole the show, rushing for 113 yards and scoring a TD on a 90-yard punt return.
This! This game featured THREE future NFL starters (Woods, Robinson, Quinn). Amazing comeback on Barbe's part.

Those three didn't play in this game. The Midland game was in late 90's. Barbe game was 2012.

Was that the game where they recovered like 3 onside kicks in a row and scored afterwards. Then kicked it deep after taking the lead and the other team ran it back to win?

Kevin Faulk was the QB for Carencro. Semi finals at West Monroe. It was the best game I have seen and it was the best individual effort by 1 player (Kevin) in a game. Faulk pitched the ball instead of keeping inside the 10 for winning score. The pitch guy lost the ball.

Sat through 2 rain showers before game. Great game.
My mind immediately goes to 1996 (I think). WM v Catholic BR in the semi’s. Catholic had Applewhite and Travis Minor. WM had Tommy Banks.
Minor returned the opening kick off for a score. No XP. Arledge defense shut them down and Banks went big10 style and grounded them out. 12-6 final if I remember correctly.
I think they best Carencro the following week in the dome.
