I know any media outlet polled would start their list with Ali and go from there, but I am not convinced he was the greatest of all time.
Who would be your top 10? (post WWII-because how the hell to do compare John L Sullivan or Gene Tunney to Deontay Wilder?)
1. Lennox Lewis
2. Evander Holyfield
3. Muhammed Ali
4. Joe Louis
5. Larry Holmes
6. George Foreman
7. Mike Tyson
8. Sonny Liston
9. Wladimir Klitschko
10. Floyd Patterson

Not true. Most people say Joe Louis.

1. Lennox Lewis 2. Evander Holyfield
Most wouldn't even have these in the top 10.
Also your list is poop without Rocky Marciano. [insert coming to America clip here]

Joe Louis fought Rocky Marciano when he was 70 years old. (Coming to America) lol

I’d listen to an argument that Ali isn’t the greatest ever.
But not for Lennox Lewis
But not for Lennox Lewis

It's just opinion, but I'll give you my reasoning.
Active fighters from 90-2002
Lennox
Holyfield
Tyson
Holmes (old)
Foreman (old)
Bowe
Ray Mercer
Lennox beat everybody who didn't duck him. Two fluke losses, both avenged, and retired before having to fight the Klitschkos
Holyfield beat everyone but Lennox (although he lost the last one to Bowe) (Can't explain the Ruiz fights)
Joe Louis had some good wins but Schemling and Walcott were his best and he lost to Ezzard Charles
Ali beat Frazier and Foreman, but lost to Norton (non friendly judges he would have lost 2 of 3) Spinks, and Frazier when both were in their prime
Tyson lost to Holyfield and Lewis both by dominant knockouts. His best wins were Tony Tucker, Holmes (old), Bruno, and Ruddock.

Joe Louis or Muhammad Ali

Must not have seen Tyson during his prime. No fricking way he is 7. I would have Ali 1, no doubt.

Worst take I've ever seen. Mike in his prime was as good as any of them. Just because he had a short reign and then it all went haywire doesn't take away from what a beast he was.

If Cus doesn't die we are debating whether its Ali or Tyson for the GOAT heavyweight. Yes, Tyson is in the top 10.

Mike doesn’t tend to get a lot of credit because he was so dominant in a period where the competition was shite.
You had the over the hill crew like Spinks on one end and you had the young guys like Holyfield and Lewis coming up around the time he went to jail, then were dominant after he came back and wasn’t the same fighter.

Is this a thread where the OP tries to be all "nuanced" and not pick the obvious answer at number 1?
Ali is one and it's not really a discussion.

Not his fault

100% his fault.
He may have beaten Holyfield or Lewis when he was younger, but I don't think so. They just didn't let him bully them around and that was the only way to beat him.

I just don't see it. Lost to Norton, who was marginal, lost to Spinks, who wasn't even marginal, lost to Frazier in his prime, beat the Zora Folleys and Chuck Wepners of the world and got a lot of attention for it because he was controversial.
He deserves credit for beating Foreman and Liston, but I don't think that's enough to be number one.

Doubt he beats either one of them when he was younger, especially Lewis. People forget Tyson ducked Lewis multiple times. Some claim that Tyson Ducked Foreman in 90.
The list starts with Ali. But it has to include Lewis, Holmes, Marciano, Lewis, and Foreman before Tyson.

Yep but Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman are better losses.
