Close second Warren Morris home run

I wasn't watching that live and was a little too young to appreciate the 96 and 97 teams. The Cresse walkoff in 2000 was the first time I sat and watched one of "my teams" win a championship. Watching that game in the living room with my dad is burned into my memory. Saints SB and LSU FB titles have surpassed it in a way, but this will always be my first.

Side note, I really miss the CWS title game. The 3 game set might be more fair but it just doesn't have the same feel IMO.

LSU and Saints championships for me. But an honorable mention would have to be Kobe’s farewell game dropping 60 when his Lakers needed every single one of them to beat the Jazz that day. And the Jazz WERE definitely playing defense. It’s fairly obvious if you watch it back.

personal stuff.

blocked a jumper by a guy 5 inches taller to send hoops game to OT after I had hit a long jumper, stole the ball in the lane, drove and got fouled (mugged from behind before I could get near the rim) made first free throw, missed unintentionally, hit another long jumper to tie.

fwiw we did not win in OT.

I had other games where i could not miss a jumper and we won easily but the block with the game on the line made it my best feeling.

worth mentioning
I hit 3 HR in a little league game with my dad in the stands. that was nice. he never came to any games. only one he went to. my mom brought him.
it was not exciting. it was weird really. he didnt even say anything.
not one word.

re: Best feeling moment you’ve had in sports
As an athlete: Winning district in the 2 mile my senior year. I had been training with the HS team since I was in 7th grade and could never win anything, I'd always be the #2-#4 guy on the track team in any given event. My senior year they wanted me to be varsity so I started off doing the 4x400, got replaced, they put me in the 800, got replaced, then put me in the 1600 and still couldn't make the top 2 on my team. They finally stuck me in the 3200 at the end of the season and I beat out my teammate for the #2 spot to qualify for district. Was seeded 4th overall going into the race, ended up taking 1st by 30 seconds as my first and only 1st place finish in a varsity race (I won a couple of JVs before that).

As a fan: 2003 LSU beating Oklahoma. I grew up in the 90s so being an LSU fan in that era I never thought I'd see the day.

The LSU win over Alabama in 2019 was very cathartic. The almost 10 years of beatings from Saban, starting on 1/9, were such a toll. Waiting for the other shoe to drop that day, and then LSU keeps scoring and closes the deal.

Others:
Frank Cabrera beats the Pirates.
Skyler TD in LSU vs UGA in 2003
Saints SB win

re: Best feeling moment you’ve had in sports
As an athlete:
Picked off two passes in the last 3 and a half minutes, one in the end zone with 20 seconds left to win the big district game. Picked the first ball off with about 3:30 left, and all we had to do was get a first down. I also played QB, as well as safety, and ran a boot on 3rd and 8. Got thrown out of bounds two yards short. Two of their dudes literally picked me up and threw me into their bench. I go flying over the bench into a water cooler. When I got up I spiked the ball in anger. A flag flew and I knew it was on them for a late hit. Instead the ref called it on me for unsportsmanlike conduct which backed us up. So, not only do I go OOB to stop the clock, my penalty backs us up 15. So, I go from hero to goat(not GOAT but goat). They returned our punt into our territory, and move it to our 7 with about 25 seconds left. I'm playing safety and jumped a slant route in the EZ to pick it off for the win. Now, I'm the hero again. Coach gave me the business after the game for my "unsportsmanlike" incident.

As a fan it was when the Reds won the 1990 World Series. As an 18 year old I figured we'd have won 3 or so more by the time I was almost 50. Little did I know then that we'd only win one playoff series the next 30 years.

Mavs winning title seeing Dirk(my favorite athlete ever) hoist trophy. Second would be Saints, Porter int. Third would be game 6 2011 World Series. Cards down to their last strike in 9th and 10th innings, pull out one of greatest games ever on walk off homer by hometown kid.

2nd and 26 was the happiest I've ever been as a fan. I was at school in Tuscaloosa at the time and had never seen Bama win a game in that fashion.

Ironic that the A&M fan’s best feeling moment would be a team claiming a championship that never happened.

Ok, so this absolutely is inferior to anything else listed in this thread so far, but personally, the best feeling I had was seeing michigan beat tim tebow and the gators in the 2008 capital one bowl.

seeing lloyd carr get carried off the field after finally opening up the offense. That same season michigan lost to app state, so it really felt like redemption. It was also the last hurrah before shite hit the fan for the next 7 years of the program.

My worst moment was my junior year in baseball. I remember it was a Saturday the same day as the 1989 Final Four. We were playing a big district game, and we were up 6-4 in the Top of the 6th with 2 outs. For some reason our new coach that year thought I was a closer even though I was the returning pitcher with the most starts and innings pitched from the year before. In other words I was a starter and hated pitching in relief. Anyway, I come in and give up a three run bomb to lose the game 7-6 and essentially cost us a spot in the playoffs. Nice.
