NBA now is head and shoulders better than the 80s. Not even close.
The players now are ridiculously skilled.
That is common sense

People think Lebron sucks at basketball because they used to allow wrestling moves in the 80s during the games. Like that’s one of the main arguments. “He would have gotten bodyslammed in the 80s by a big white guy in goggles!!!”

Correct. If he acts like he does now while being te physical force that he is, there is no way he would be as effective in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

I'm no LeBron fan but this is just a lazy argument. LeBron wouldn't have sucked in the 80s. Guy is the greatest talent the sport has seen and that translates to all eras. Just because you(and I) don't believe he's better than Jordan(i personally have Kobe over him as well) doesnt mean we have to completely jump off the ledge arguing asinine points. It's OK to give him some flowers just not the crown.

I don't think you understand what soft means. LeBron would fricking quit in the 80s. He would get his arse beat up and down the court. His talent is through the roof but no, it doesn't translate to all eras. Larry Bird, Jordan and, Magic would have a field day playing in this era.

I can’t stand some of the Lebron off the court stuff, specifically the shadow agency. The guy is at minimum top 2 ever

Also while Jordan was awesome I do think people excuse away every less favorable point for Jordan and do the opposite for Lebron when making their pro-Jordan arguments.

While people could bad boy Piston players they also technically couldn’t play zone defense. Lebron would have feasted on the clear-outs and one-on-one from back then.

at the Kobe love. He has to be the most overrated of the argued top 20 all-time great players.

Without Bird /Magic the NBA wouldn't be anything close to what it is today.

Today players are ridiculously skilled, but sit back open and drain 3s and get fouls.

In the 80s the 3pt was used as a dagger or to help catch back up. The game has changed. It's just a show now. Same as the NFL.

a 38 year old Jordan would of killed the Nuggets, is that what you are saying?

I remember 38 and 39 year old Jordan with the Bullets, u sure that's what you are trying to say? And lets add, Jordan took off 4 of 8 years before coming back, so he had fresh as frick legs, and ur saying that guy would of whipped the nuggets

and remember, i think jordan is goat, and think lebron is a human piece of shite, but top 2-3 player.

The biggest problem Lebron would have in the 80’s is that he wouldn’t be able to hop around the league attempting to create super teams. He’d have been stuck in Cleveland a lot longer he was. Of all the top players in the 80’s , who would he convince to leave their situation and join him? I don’t deny LeBron’s ungodly talent, but the way he has gone about ring chasing in an effort to anoint himself the GOAT rubs many fans the wrong way.

If Jordan had been playing he would have told Phil he’s guarding Murray and would have locked him down. Lebron doesn’t do what needs to be done. Then the BS lying on the floor clutching his ankle so the whole world sees he excuse because the sweep is complete. I know he’s 38 but he chose to keep playing because he wants all the records that come with longevity.
I know he's 38 and better than MJ when he was 38, but I'm just gonna make a post pretending otherwise and compare 38 year old Lebron to prime MJ!!

But don’t tell me he’s better than Jordan, Bird, or Kareem when it comes to winning games. Not even close.

They couldn't get Spud Webb or Mark Price to submit, I think the dude who was bigger, stronger and faster than them would laugh as he got his and 1 and went to the free throw line over and over.

That was the final comment I was waiting to see, we got through all of the absurdly bad Lebron talking points in 1 thread.

Good job, guys!

After I got done laughing at your hilarious comment, I tried to think of just one thing Lebron does better than Kobe did…maybe rebounding? Maybe? Lebron was never, at any point in his life, better than Kobe…

Lmao, how old are you? The 80s weren't a foul league like it is today. Guys got clotheslined going in for a layup back then. LeBron would quit in the 80s. He couldn't handle it. Mentally or physically.

You might have him top 2 or 3, but Larry Bird is definitely over Lebron. Bird's a legend. LeBron will never have players 40 years from now saying how scared they were of him.

1 thing? Goodness your Lebron hatred is really shining through here.

Lebron is a better passer, rebounder, and all around scorer. Lebron also is way more efficient from 2 and 3.

Kobe: 44% FG. (32% from 3)
Lebron: 51% FG (34% from 3)

Such a stupid take.
