I played against Patrick Reed and Andrew Loupe when they were at UHigh and Episcopal. I was an ok player at the time, 8ish handicap.

Those guys were clearly on a different level than anyone I’d ever seen before. Nothing more demoralizing than starting every hole at a 50 yard disadvantage off the tee

Big al jefferson was top 2.. but best one most wont remember is jonathan bender. He was a high school KD. 6'11 that could drain 3s from anywhere on the court. Was way before his time.. was surreal to play against someone like that, then a couple months later watch him break michael jordans mcdonalds all american game scoring record, then drafted top 5 in nba draft out if high school... his knees just coulnt hold up when he hit the league

Michael Phelps. He kicked my arse, but we did compete in the same heat a couple times before he started to go exclusively to national level meets by the time he was 15. Hah

Gil Stovall and Ricky Berens are two other Olympic swimmers I routinely swam against.

I remember that fight, Monzone almost killed him in that fight. He was never the same fighter.

Randy Paul William's from Plaquemine was a man amongst boys in High School.

Jonas Francious from St. Martinville was a beast. At safety he would knock down the deep ball yet make the tackle for a 1 yard gain. He was everywhere.

Former LSU and NE Patriot RB Steven Ridley.

Man amongst boys. Was in on one tackle against him with another teammate..felt like solid rock. He had 2 rush TD, 1 Kick Return TD, 1 Passing TD..in the first half.

Played HS basketball against Kyle Brady. He was already a 6’6” 280 lb. grown arse man in HS. That was his NFL height and weight at TE for his 13 seasons. It was like watching a dad playing against little kids.

Wasn't he the only black guy in the league?

I got frickED up by Darryl Willams (John Ehert HS, LSU/Cheifs RB) my junior year of highschool on kick off
Dude was returning and i squared up infront of him and my arse got steamrolled

I've played pick up with Tremont Waters and Naz Reid last year at the LSUBB practice facility. My roommate was a manager and we always would go there and play pick up late. Went one time and they were there and hopped in with us and just destroyed everyone

Timmy Howard, but in basketball not soccer. Played against him in high school as well as in pick up games at a park a bunch of times.

Also grew up playing against John Celestand who was drafted by the lakers in the 2nd round and spent a few years in the nba.

David Boston in HS. He was a freak athlete as a WR. Damn shame that his NFL career was short.

Also played against Dante Hall in HS. Dude was fast as shite and as nimble as anyone I’ve seen. What we saw from him in the NFL was short lived but pretty much showed his return skills. He played RB in HS and was excellent. He was at full speed in 3 steps...like a damn jack rabbit.

Deron Williams was a grade above me at the same HS. I was the PG on 1st team of JV. PF on 2nd team. Turns out DWill was 1st team PG and 2nd team PF for varsity.

Dunked on him once. Gym went wild. Blocked his layup attempt once... coach made me run bc "are you gonna score 20 and dime 10 next game if you hurt one of my best players (Bracey Wright was our guy at the time) trying to act like you can jump?!". Um, okay guess playing defense is bad.

Played a game against Eli Manning in high school. I thought I sacked him, but he threw it out of the back of the end zone right as I hit him. Sucks because saying “I almost sacked Eli Manning” doesn’t sound as cool. He worked me the rest of the game though. I think the TE went for 350 and 8 TDs.

I was on a state all-star wrestling team with Daniel Cormier. Didn’t get to really roll with him, but we were in some drill rotations together.
