Eli Manning.

Mine would be Randy Livingston from Newman.
My answer also.

Agreed. I watched Randy play in the high school championships and he was simply unguardable.

I got a bunt single off Jake Peavy one time. He was legit in high school.

I saw Randy play Block in the semi’s. Block was the better team but Randy went for 40+ and beat Block by 3. He had like 44 out of their 57 or something like that. On the opening tip he threw down an alley oop to start the game off. The dude’s basketball life is a real tragedy. It’s a shame his knees failed him.
ETA: and that game was when he was a junior.

Attempted to: 1) Chase down Skyler Green on a kickoff, 2) Tackle Matt Forte, 3) block Marlon Favorite. None of those things were successful.

Mwelde Moore ran me slap over in middle school football. I quit that shite the very next week.

I watched Joe Delaney run past me several times on the way to the end zone. I'm glad he decided to do that instead of run right over me because he could have just as easily have done that too.

Didn’t compete in the same track events as him but my senior year Julio Jones came to Nola for the Sugar Bowl Relays at Tad Gormley.

Not the best player I saw in person but the best performance that I saw was Halloween night 2003 when Craig Steltz carried the ball only 7 times for 170 yards and scored 20 points (3 TDs and a 2 PT conversion) in an 8 minute span of the 4th quarter in a 38-27 comback victory over Jesuit.

For me:
Best all around athlete: Lyle Overbay, 3 sport stud at what once was an elite program
Best football player: Mike Sellers, every NCAA school wanted him if he had the grades, still made the NFL sans college. One of my favorite HS sports moments was watching future MLBer Travis Lee and Sellers get in a fight in a HS basketball game.
Best Basketball player: Jason Terry, two time state champion and mature leader before he stepped foot on a college campus. Didn’t care much for the crooked sock look. Lute Olsen made him keep them level.

I'll go somewhat old school and say Brian Mitchell. I saw him when he played at Plaquemime High and he was a man among boys on the field.

If you saw Brandon Jacobs trucking defenders in the NFL, just imagine what he did to our team that was 4-40 during my four years in high school.

Terry Roybiskie (the older one)

Jameis Winston
Also an offensive lineman named Spencer Region who played at Cullman High School. He was a highly touted recruit who was once committed to Auburn, but ended up at Clemson and was a depth guy his entire time there. He was a monster in high school, though.

Played basketball against Michael Bush - he is easily the best athlete I've ever played against in any sport. 6'3", 245 lbs, feet like a ballerina, and could fly. I firmly believe he would've been a great NFL RB had he not fricked up his leg so badly his senior year at Louisville.
Played AAU ball against Rajon Rondo.
I played football against Brian Brohm quite a bit growing up. He was very good, but he was never as good as he was pumped up to be (the Sports Illustrated cover, every school in the country wanted him, etc.). He was on a loaded team in high school that was pumping out 7 - 8 FBS level players every single year and had a D1 level line in front of him his last two years.
