Anyone set one up for their kids? I'd like to get one for the kids along with a machine. Anyone know the best place to purchase the frame and net. Looking to go with a 12x12x70.

I’d like to have one for myself. Get some extra exercise and if the kids decide they want to finally get into baseball, great

I put one up.
Bought the net kit with cables and clips from Ultimate Sport Gyms, LLC on ebay.
I got a 14x14x55 cage and installed it myself with 6 4x4's.
Now because I bought them from Lowe's, they were green and wet, and bowed like sons of bitches.
I would use 6x6's on the sides, and a 4x4 in the middle.
I got them 16ft long, and buried them 4ft deep.
Ran the cables with turn buckles across the top, and voila, batting cage.
The very next season they made my kid a PO, and he never picked up a bat again,
Daughter uses it now for HS Softball.
Whole set up was less than $600, and with the carabiner clips on the cables, I can pull it back for grass cutting, or long periods of non use.

i put one up recently. When I priced everything out, I think you're better off buying a kit online instead of trying to get stuff from home depot. Then it will also come with helpful info on things to do and not do, so it wont sag.

I have net in my garage. I make them hit with a broom stick cut to 27" and use those plastic golf balls.

If you truly want to help your child get better and learn valuable life lessons (How to learn new skills, hard work) Look up Motor Learning, Principle of Tansfer, Principle of Specificity, Principle of Whole vs Part, Blocked vs Random.
It will change how you view practice.

Already have one. I have a pole barn that wasn't in use, but in great shape. I took half of it and hung the netting for 80x15x15 dimensions. We have a mound and plate area. Turf throughout.
I built it a few years ago because my son really wanted it, and I was coaching, so on rainy days, the whole team comes for practice.

Had a full size one like you want when the kids were young. Ordered it through baseball express back then, it had metal poles and a qood quality net. It lasted at least 10 years before I got rid of it. It was a good investment and was used year round.

70' Hell on... that's just more spread out the balls will be! You rarely throw full distance. Go 45-55', more times than not you'll be sitting behind an L screen throw short toss from 20-25' or so.
