I think this would have the opposite effect. NBA offenses already put 4 shooters way outside and one big in the middle to spread defenses. Making the court bigger would only make more space for defenses to cover and thus more offense.

Be nice if they stopped letting everyone carry. It's unwatchable.

Naw, 3s make comebacks happen. Leave them alone.

I don't mind all the outside shots.

The end of games are unwatchable though. Especially now with teams fouling up 3.

I don't think they physically can unless the 3 point line doesn't go to the endline.

I personally would love any change to the last 2 minutes of games that make it last half an hour.

Best rule change would be to get rid of fouling out.
I would have been great for that game. When I played in a YMCA media league in Dallas I was the guy that went in and fouled a guy that no one on our team could guard. It really made other teams mad when 5'8" 200 lb me came in to guard a 6'3" guy, and just grabbed him.

1. cut regular season to one month
2. cut playoffs to one week
3. cut one-third time off game
4. outlaw players from commercials
5. 8 players per team
6. running clock throughout game, no stoppage whatsoever

Shots from the other side of half court count as 4. Imagine a team needing to defend the center line against the 4 point heave to tie it up

Also, for any reviews there should be a 30 second clock that starts at the same time as the review. If they cannot confirm within that 30 seconds the call stands as it was called on the floor and play continues.

They should make 3 pointers worth 4 and current 2s worth 3. Similar idea to yours but less drastic of a ratio change.

I’ve been saying this for years, lessens the importance of the deep shot but still an incentive to take it. People would get used to the crazy high scores after a few years

quote:

This works in a vacuum but how do you handle FT values

Fts are still worth 1pt and you get 2fts whenever you are fouled shooting, regardless of where you shoot. Non shooting fouls when in the bonus that lead to fts you now take 3fts instead of 2. This means there is less incentive to try and draw a foul so players are more focussed on actually trying to score. Yes it does incentivize the defense to foul more but hell I’m here for more physical play

Raise the goal one foot. Have a goalie for each team with a stick. Five points for a dunk. Move free throw line behind the goal so you have to shoot over the top of the back board. Cheerleaders and fans get to shoot free throws in first half.

This. Why have a rule so fundamental to the basic game play that you openly abuse? It's absurd. It's like saying you have a shot clock but then let everyone have an additional 5 seconds for each shot just because, with no enforcement.

No way the idiot refs would call it right on a regular basis.
