Thats not normal, either the guy is on a lethal dose of steroids or drugged out. Theres amped up, and then theres snorting an entire 8 ball before you walk up to the plate.

Dude should have been bitch slapped after all of that.

It’s very simple, if a hitter shows you up like that you either fight him or you ear hole him the next time or two he comes up to bat. I don’t feel sorry for pitchers who let this slide. They’re the ones carrying the dangerous weapon, it’s up to them to make hitters respect that.
What you are calling for is pussy behavior lol

Let the batter charge the mound with the bat and let’s see who has the dangerous weapon

Baseball is fun. There is emotion.
What we don’t need is celebrating and attention whoring after every play. That’s football.

Bat flips are the baseball equivalent of the guy telling you how much his watch costs

My gosh you people are clueless

First baseman should have shoulder checked his arse into the dirt

Yes I agree, Female Umpires from Hooters, who go braless and run up and down the foul lines( they'll have no clue about the strike zone), but enjoyable nonetheless.
so like Angel Hernandez?

The unwritten rules of baseball are one of my favorite things about the sport.
I also like fun.

Grienke dealing with the Soto Shuffle is exactly how this shite should be handled.

Actually pussy and bitch behavior lol

But it's cool if a pitcher pumps his fist after a big strikeout?

Precisely. Perfect way to handle it.
But here's the problem: I don't think the powers that be in the NCAA or MLB are all that bothered by such things because they are desperate to market the game to a younger audience to whom such things are commonplace.
The average age of MLB television viewers is 57. The sport's future is not sustainable with that. But those people are also the most dedicated fans and if you lose them because you drastically change the way the sport is played and what is allowed while it's being played, you're screwing yourself in another way.
People have always had plenty of fun within "the unwritten rules of baseball." I don't think people are saying you ought to trudge around the bases with your head down like Roger Maris did when he hit No. 61 in 1961 if you hit a home run.
Just don't act like an arse and don't show up your opponents and don't shake and shimmy when you haven't done a frickin' thing except stand there.
I did say last night that I didn't mind a bat flip within reason, mentioning Reggie Jackson was doing that 50 years ago. But if you've seen clips of the 1971 All-Star Game where he hit that mammoth home run, he flipped his bat but then immediately started running around the bases. I don't think Dock Ellis, the pitcher, felt shown up. How can you show up someone any worse than hitting a ball that probably would've gone 600 feet if it hadn't hit a light tower?
People were also stylin' a little 50 or 60 years ago. Henry Aaron deliberately ran around the bases with his elbows held high (watch the old films) when he hit a home run, because he thought it looked cool, and he always carried his bat and helmet to the plate in a certain way and before he stepped into the batter's box, he always put his helmet on in a certain way and ceremoniously cleared his throat. Even with Bob Gibson on the mound.

I’m all for celebrating and showing emotion when you should. This video is the exact opposite. He drew a walk, in a 7 run game where he was down, and was celebrating and talking shite as if he tied the game. That’s just being an arrogant, and ignorant, POS player.

Uh huh.
This is a guy who didn’t hit a HR in three seasons at the time, but hit paydirt in a WS game. This was in 1987 btw.

Which Frank Viola didn’t do after the HR up above, because he was an adult who understood the moment.
