Dumb as shite. But, what do expect from a team that hired and keeps Todd Bowles as their coach. Welcome to more 8-9 or 7-10 seasons Bucs fans.

Congrats to Panthers, Saints, and I would say Falcons fans, but they don't know wtf they're doing either

You’re saying the Panthers and Saints are well ran organizations?

Not really, but this helps. The Panthers do seem to be figuring it out more than the other 3 teams in the division

Nothing, he sucks. If he was a "franchise QB" as he claims to be why didn't Cleveland, Carolina or the Rams pay him?

I agree that 165 over only 3 years is overpaying for Mayfield, especially for a team that needs many more pieces to make a decent playoff run.

However, he was never brought to LA to be a starter. They had their guy in Stafford. And I definitely wouldn't use the Cleveland Browns franchise as an example of competent QB judgement.

Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys for 140 million. Let that resonate.

Carolina didn't want him either. He's a turnover waiting to happen. Team started 6-2 last season and failed to make the playoffs. That's not all on him, but some of it is. He is the definition of mediocre. But, he thinks he's an elite franchise QB. Just listen to him, he'll tell you.

That’s insane considering how much the franchise is worth now

Crazy. A breakdown of his and his fellow first rounder's playoff records and average yearly salary:

Mayfield: 2 - 3 $55 mil/avg
Jackson: 3 - 5 $55 mil/avg
Allen: 8 - 7 $52 mil/avg
Darnold: 3 - 1 (Superbowl win) $33.5 mil/avg

The lowest paid guy is the only one with a super bowl.

He's also probably the worst one on that list, and he signed that contract one year after his only good NFL season and 11 months before he won a super bowl.

Baker Mayfield the dude that will get you just enough useless wins so you fall in the part of the draft where you can't draft his replacement. Terrible deal for the Bucs.
