A lot of people suspected it was drug related. Doesn't make it any less sad

The U.S. needs to get a handle on the painkiller/amphetamine problem.

You misunderstood what he said.

It wasn’t directed to just him (I get what he was saying). We already have multiple people in this thread with the “no sympathy it was his choice” BS. It’s such an ignorant viewpoint to a complex problem that is actively feeding the problem.

I haven’t heard a word about addiction

Where is that coming from? If he were a known abuser, seems like something more would have come out prior to an autopsy report

He could have been using recreationally w/o addiction and just been given a lethal dose from ignorance on his part or his source.

Regardless, fentanyl is poison. Used for hospice situations in terminally ill patients.

I’m glad this has been made public. Skaggs picked his poison. Not a whole lot of sadness IMO.

Definitely could serve a greater purpose given his stature.

Ironically, weed could've prevented his death if it would've been prescribed instead of the opioids.

I can’t wait to watch this problem fade away once weed is finally completely legalized

The blame is not all certainly on the victims and saying so is retarded, but it’s completely ridiculous to say the user wasn’t at fault at all.

I'd venture to say it comes from him dying of an overdose of a dangerously addicting drug.

There are probably millions of people addicted to drugs that no one knows about. You probably know people. It's not exactly something people like to broadcast.

It's also an issue of personal responsibility to follow up with your prescribing doctor after your injury/recovery & let them know what you're dealing with. And it's an issue of professional (as well as moral) responsibility for the doctor to ween their patient OFF of opioids.

It is a CHOICE to ignore addiction in this day in age. Period.

You have to have a giant misunderstanding of just about every aspect of society to think someone can't have an addiction if no one knows about it.

Booze and painkillers are the devil. I've been battling them for a decade. It's an awful way to live.

Yeah I’ve gotten a ton of scripts for this nagging nerve pain I’ve had. I flushed most because the way they made me feel.

I think it’s premature to assume he was addicted to fentanyl or anything for that matter.

No way his teammates are that overcome and word doesn’t leak out if this dude was addicted to anything.

They travel together half the fricking year. Give me a break. If Skaggs is staying high like an addict, no way we’re waiting on toxicology reports
