Really? I can't tell you how many lifelong Heat fans I've met the last few months.

Miami is a horrible sports city. Great city, but nobody gives a shite about sports. Heat fans are bandwagoners. They all jumped ship after they started sucking and hopped back on when they got lebron.

I agree. It's worse than Atlanta, but slightly better than Houston.

Miami fans demand a quality product. They won't let some douche bag owner put out a mediocre product. If you win, they will come.

Panthers have sucked forever.
Marlins have sucked for a while.
Dolphins have sucked for a while.
Heat are good.

They demand a quality product, but they aren't getting it and haven't for some time outside of the Heat.

The Heat seems to have a good fanbase.

Most southern cities are pretty poor pro sports towns, especially compared to the northeast and midwest which have had pro teams longer, have teams with more success, and don't generally support college athletics as much.

So yeah, Atlanta is pretty crappy pro sports town, but I don't think Atlanta is any worse than Miami, Houston, Charlotte, Nashville, etc. NOLA loves the Saints now, but before Katrina/Drew Brees New Orleans was a pretty poor pro sports town as well.

A team as historically crappy as the Saints would not have lasted in many cities.

Yea, it has nothing on Miami or Nashville or anything like that, but the fan culture is rather pedestrian. I think it's a good host city as far as sports go, though.

I am a Georgia native and still live here,

Atlanta is a crappy sports town. All the teams here are second hand teams. None can finish anything

There are some decent sports fans here but all the state of Georgia teams are by far underachievers .
