Atlanta Braves Trade Deadline

They will do absolutely nothing. Nor should they. They will patiently get back the guys on IL for their playoff run and then run roughshod through the NL like Ivan the Terrible.

A pitch in AAA is a pitch in the majors. We need Max now. Go sixty or so on Thursday and bring him up.

lol no.

We need Max for the postseason, meaning we need him to get enough starts in Atlanta heading into it. But we don't "need him now."

What’s so weird about it when they were talking about it on a live radio station????

What’s weird about it is people on here talking shite about me for posting something I heard on an Atlanta Braves talk radio station. That’s fricking weird to me

Because anyone who publicly says that Strider and Harris are on bad contracts shouldn't be in the business of espousing public opinions in sports.

2019 - Traded for Melancon, Greene and Martin
2020 - COVID
2021 - Traded for Pederson, Soler, Rosario, Duvall and Rodriguez
2022 - Traded for Iglesias, Adrianza, Odorizzi and Grossman

We're definitely making moves at the deadline.

Your OP:

It kind of sounded like the Braves were trying to move Michael Harris, Spencer Strider, 2 minor leave studs (I don’t remember their names) and some draft picks to the Angels.

There is no world in which the Braves are TRYING to move Strider or Harris. That's why people are "talking shite".

It was such a stupid premise that you’re catching collateral damage for sharing it.

Your entire OP reads like a thread circa 2005 before things like twitter existed and people still put credence in mindless theories from people on the radio.

Neither Strider nor Harris are on bad contracts, draft picks aren’t traded in baseball lmao, and the Braves dumping a bunch of assets to grab Ohtani in a contract year is the complete opposite of how their organization operates

The fact that you felt like this was something worth sharing and are now getting upset at the replies ITT makes you look extremely dumb

I still find it hard to believe that two Atlanta radio hosts said:

1) Harris and Strider are on bad contracts

2) The Braves should trade draft picks

I mean, I know local sports media is taking a nosedive, but there's no way in hell big market guys have this little knowledge about the most successful sport and team in their market.

Did we shed any of our bad contracts yet?

Per back channels, AA is open to including a lottery protected 2024 first along with a future pick swap to get out from under Strider’s albatross deal

Definitely think it's time to move on from Strider. Back channels also reported a gray hair in his moustache. He'll start falling off soon IMO.

Maybe we can bring on a good contract like those of Kris Bryant or Anthony Rendon?

That is ridiculous. They will eventually have to do something though. The contracts they made over the last 2 years will haunt them in the next 2. They remind me of the Marlins back in the late 90's when they won the Series. They basically bought an all-star team but they could only make it work for a season or two.

I like Strider but he's starting to get figured out. He will need to develop something new soon.

ATL needs to win NOW. They're in for a rough couple of years real soon unless they hit the lottery on some prospects.

At least everyone AA traded for last year made the playoff roster.
