DOB tweet:

#Braves under Anthopoulos have done this again and again -- with Soroka, Harris, now Grissom. They'll call up a kid if they think he gives them best chance to win, experience or be damned.

With Grissom, expect a high-energy guy with excellent bat-to-ball skills, puts it in play.

Could have used that last weekend

Cubs just released Simba. Bring him back.

Hopefully this is a short term deal, but the way everyone reacted to Lando, it looked like bad news that hangs around.

The BABIP and exit velo on a strikeout is zero, which the Mets reminded us last weekend.

Aggressiveness at the plate. Doesn’t walk at all. Hopefully it translates but that won’t bode well against big league pitchers.

No one, not even great bat-to-ball hitters, is immune to being made to look silly by deGOAT

They had 57 strikeouts over the weekend. I don't care who is on your pitching staff. 31 against deGrom and Scherzer is still embarrassing, but they're great and I guess sometimes that happens. Getting clowned by mediocre, part time starters like David Peterson is what irritates me more than anything.

57 strikeouts. That number would be embarrassing for someone like the Pirates, much less the defending World Series champions.

I've seen a bit of Vaughn in Mississippi.

Handles the bat well, uses all fields, works the count. The power isn't really there yet but there are glimpses of him being a 20-25 HR guy. He did hit 11 HR in Rome to begin the season.

He has the ability to fight off a lot of 2 strike pitches. Very interested to see how that translates to Major League pitching. Dangerous runner on the basepaths as well despite being 6'3.

Playing 2B will be good for him because I think 2B, 3B or LF was in the cards for him more than SS in he Majors.

Good write up. He reminds me of a less polished Dansby offensively without Dansby's glove a bit, but Dans was a college guy so he should have been more polished at that point.

This team ain’t it.
Last half of the year was fun last year though.
The Freeman debacle fricked us. No way around it and no way to pretend it didn’t anymore.

Pussy.

Things still looking pretty bleak for the stretch run what with the injuries and the piss poor starting pitching outings lately

Thanks for the write-up.

If any of his dad rubbed off on him, he'll be able to hit. And from what you've said he got his speed from him.

I feel old as frick now seeing Vaughn make his debut tonight after watching his dad as a teenager.

Marquis' son pitched for Georgia Tech and was drafted by the Nationals this summer.
