You know as well as I that AA is going to AA here and not get a front line starter.
I’ll go further to say we probably haven’t had a serious talk with any team about one.

Who is realistically left from a SP standpoint?
Trevor Rogers is one I would be very interested in.
I think the Marlins would listen to offers for Alcantara. Nats would probably listen on Foster Griffin too.
I wouldn't hate Clay Holmes, but I don't think the Mets would trade with us.
Dustin May would be an interesting gamble.
Now that Seattle has traded Luis Castillo, I don't know if George Kirby is available.

Besides like a week before he got hurt he hasn't done shite. Sucks in the field now too.
Offense went downhill when Drake got hurt.

Has AA ever done an inter-division deal since he's been with us?

Wouldn't hate it, wouldn't excite me either. Basically how I feel about Mize.

I'm confused in what Seattle is trying to accomplish at the deadline.

Bizarre deGrom invoking no-trade clause.

He told 680 that he thought a deal for Schwarber was done at the 2021 deadline but the Nats balked because he didn't think Mike Rizzo wanted to trade him within the division. I don't think he would name Mike Rizzo publicly if he was lying about that.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Damn. deGrom, Eovaldi, and Gore off the board.

was also hoping the skid the Fish just went through would've made Alcanterra moveable but then they swept PHI dumped the smets 3 of 4 - now 1.5 outta final WC spot -

Dustin May to the Brewers. Another pitcher off the board.

So to recap, the Dodgers, Brewers and Cubs aka the three teams with 60+ wins besides us have all made a postseason rotation move over the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, we were probably the team in that group that needed to get a starting pitcher the most.

The longer this goes, the more I can see the script being written for Gaudin and CJ already. “Perez and Ritchie will be solid and Elder will be at his early season form come playoff time”.

Damn, Milwaukee got Romero in that May deal too.
That's a solid pen arm if he's healthy.
We're like the only NL contender who doesn't seem to be approaching this deadline with a "win now" lens.

quote:Been calling this for weeks. AA doesn't have the balls to go all in or even make 1 move for a qualify starting pitcher. Very frustrating seeing everyone else improve when we have the 3rd best record in the MLB.

The Cubs added Gausman to their rotation and overhauled their entire pen.

How soon before we announce his signing?
