Not a trade I'm proposing, pointing at your lil finger at the wrong guy.

Just spit balling broski. Everyone stay calm.
We aren't resigning him right? Wouldn't it make sense to get something for him? You could wait another year and then delay him but you risk another injury or him getting stabbed in the Venezuela league.
We're only a few game out of the #1 seed. Sale is dealing. Harris is having a career year, Olson is locked on, Ozzie has his moments, Drake can carry offense and is back in form.
Shake this shite up and make a splash man frick it.

Where are you getting this from?
Besides, we still have multiple years of club options before we have to worry about that.

You are taking a big risk with Sale and Degrom staying healthy. Our luck they would both slip in the dugout and be out for the year after the trade is finalized.
But who cares, we probably don't even have a season next year.

You know we won't resign him. He will want a massive payday after the fleecing he took on his current deal.
AA doesn't hand those out. See Freddie, Dansby, and Fried.

But even if we don't. We still control his contract for two more seasons after this one.

Yes but who knows if we are back in this position next year or if Acuna gets hurt again. Two years of team control of Acuna is a massive chip and could get a lot of shite.
Maybe I should be shooting higher with my return on trading him but the upside of Degrom and Eovaldi in the post season intrigues me.

Acuna still has more longterm upside than either of those two.
Trading Ronald is waving a white flag.
Full stop.

Idk man. Hard for me to continue to give him the benefit of the doubt after the past three years of health issues and poor performance.
When he is right he can definitely carry a ball club...do you think that happens this year?

I don't know, but I'd rather have the option of that being a possibility than having no chance of it happening at all because we traded him away.

If you could get all three of those guys and get Texas to eat say 60% of the owed money would you be okay including Ronald in the package going back?
AJSS
Ronald
Caminniti
One or two other top 20 guys
I would do it in a heartbeat. We aren't going to resign Ronald. His contract has to be super attractive to anyone even despite the injuries and underperformance
This might be the dumbest trade proposal I've ever seen
Posted on 8/3/26 at 12:44 pm to VADawg
You guys are stuck in 2023 in regards to Ronald. He has great potential sure but he hasn't played 100 games in a season since and has a total of 3.8 WAR.
Posted on 8/3/26 at 12:57 pm to Wwarmouth
He doesn't need to be 2023 Ronald to justify his contract. If you trade Ronald right now, your everyday outfield is Harris, Yaz, and Thomas. Harris has been great, but Yaz and Thomas are not everyday players. The corner outfield production in June starting literally the day Ronald got hurt (June 9) absolutely cratered. The offense would be so bad that it wouldn't matter who is in the pitching staff.
Even if the power numbers are down, Acuna gets on base at a far better clip than anyone else in this lineup besides Baldwin. The Braves really, really, really missed that while he was out.
This might be a valid offseason discussion when there is time to figure out how to properly replace him.

Ray to Padres
Pitching market is drying up quickly.

I would give up Ronald to get the pitchers alone though.
Have you watched the team this year both with and without him in the lineup?

Like I said, no shot of him coming to the Braves.

AA seems to be shopping at the $ General for pitchers.
Still has time to fill the BIG need, but as said, it's drying up fellas.

Who is realistically left from a SP standpoint?
The Rangers guys and Mize (very meh on him)?

Welp, we're not getting him if the media is reporting it.
