Looks like he hit around .300 in June and hitting 11/27 with 3 home runs in July in AAA.

I'm not expecting anything from him, but it's a no-risk move for a guy who has been good in Triple-A the last month and his entire salary is covered by the Mets and Mariners for this season.
ETA: And it's a lefty bat off the bench instead of Mike Ford.

Yeah, I had no problem with the move. Just going with the assumption that he'll do nothing, and will be happy to be surprised.

Low risk move. No problem w/it.

Eh, not really this year so far, Cano has been awful(hitting like .150ish on the year between the Mets and Padres). Arcia at least plays really good defense. But he's definitely worth taking a flyer on over Gosselin, who has been pointless on the roster.
That’s kinda what I meant, the combo of him and Arcia is an upgrade over Arcia and Gosselin. But he may be washed. Or the lack of ABs in the shortened 2020 season and missing all of last year set him pretty far back. Baseball’s not a sport where you can just take off that much—especially at his age—and step right back in where you left off. Maybe he just needs more reps to knock the rust off and can wind up being a decent backup to Ozzie and bat off the bench by the end of the year. Should get some decent pitches to hit in our lineup surrounded by all the dudes we’ve got.
Or he could be DFA’d by the end of the week.

Trying to catch lightning in a bottle until we get Ozzie back

Actually, Mariners are paying $3.75M and Mets $20.25M of Canó $24M salary this year and again in 2024, minus the prorated portion of MLB minimum from any team he's with.
I just want him to be productive because it would be hilarious if he contributes at all to another division title while the Mets are paying him $20m

So, who gets sent down tomorrow when they activate Kenley?
Lee? Stephens?
Lee? Stephens?

With all of the innings our 'pen has had to cover recently, we need guys that can give us length, in the event of a short start, or more extra innings, and Lee and Stephens can both do that. O'Day should probably be the odd man out, but it will probably be Stephens, because they'll be worried about losing O'Day on waivers.

I like AA's acquisition of Cano. Low risk move by the Braves.
Although it's triple A, Cano done quiet well lately.

Lee is staying. He can go multiple innings if need be and save the pen.

Jansen tomorrow.
Soroka (likely meaning Strider to pen) and Yates after the all star break.
Jay Jackson began is rehab assignment around a week ago I believe.
Potential trade for a reliever.
Agreed that it will probably be Stephens but I’d be surprised if O’Day makes it through the year.

No way you send Strider to the pen. That would be a damn fireable offense for Snitker.

If Soroka comes back to like 80% of what he was before, you have:
Fried
Wright
Strider
Morton
Soroka
Anderson as a LRP/spot starter
Or maybe a 6 man rotation if Ian continues to get better

Hate to say it, but that stuff usually settles itself out. We're honestly due for a starting pitcher IL stint.

I think it’ll happen eventually.
He’s already thrown 66 innings this year and only threw 94 last year, in his 1 and only milb season.
We are halfway through the season so he’d have around 15 more starts. At 6 innings per start that would be 90 more innings (155 total). And that wouldn’t count any post season innings.
Don’t think they’ll let him get that high.
His stuff would play up in multi inning relief role and Anderson in a relief role doesn’t make much sense given his 1st inning struggles.
