I’m only going off of what the in stadium scoreboard says, but is his fastball really only topping out at 97?

1 bad inning and people are losing their minds on Strider already. This is the worst start by far He's had this season and he's been borderline great all year.

It’s more than one bad inning. He had a 9 pitch 1st inning and is now at 75 pitches through 4.
He has not been economical at all in his last few starts and that’s a problem.
Also, the Harris cannon is so impressive in person. Ridiculous

Not everyone is an extreme sunshine pumper like you. A lot of us have the ability to cheer for this team while still recognizing their flaws.
I think Strider is trying to figure out how to throttle it down a bit so he can get through a full season, but what made him so great last year was his ability to hit 100 easily and hitters couldn't do anything with it. There's a huge difference between 95/96 and 100. 5 hits and 4 walks through 4 innings is not normal for him. That is a little alarming.
Also seems like they're done scoring off of Eovaldi for the night.

It’s easier to get away with having only two pitches when you’re throwing 100. Not so much when you’re sitting 95-97, especially the second time through the order. So Strider needs to either start pumping triple digits again or trust the change up more.
Also, I’m pretty sure Seitzer threatens this team to run stadium steps for every three ball count a hitter gets the night before. We are bailing Eovaldi the frick out.
