No chance that was 448. My word

Yeah it would have to be coming down rapidly by the time it went into the third deck to be 448. That thing still had some decent carry at that point. Felt more like 475.

That’s Ronald Acuña Jr.’s 25th career 440+ ft home run, including playoffs

That’s the most in MLB since the start of 2018 (including playoffs), breaking a tie at 24 with C.J. Cron, Giancarlo Stanton, Trevor Story and Aaron Judge

Damn, I would have thought he’d have a higher SLG% as a lefty at least. But singles add up and help with that. I’m not sure what other metric might show value. WAR won’t work because he hits so much more left-handed. I’m sure there’s an adjusted WAR stat I’m not familiar with, though. Maybe you guys do.

Lastly, there’s no way to know if he’d hit nearly as good RH against RH pitching. There’s a reason people switch-hit—they see the ball better against the opposite handed pitcher. Take that away, and maybe he’s not nearly as good right-handed. But we’ve been talking about that for years, and it’s clear it’s not an option.

Holy shite that ball Ronnie hit. Dear Lord.

And huge 2nd inning for Spence. Needed that.

The flaw in the debate about Ozzie hitting exclusively from the right side is assuming he'd put up similar numbers facing RHP's from the right side. Not sure that would be the case.

80% of his current right hand production would be a win.

That’s insane considering he missed half a season, and played last year not fully healthy. And that ball went way over 448. 115+ exit velo with that launch angle? Please.

Speaking of launch angle, I made a post earlier in the season that I know you remember and his average was at like 5 degrees. Short sample size. Then a couple weeks passed, and I said I was a little concerned that it was still down when he was crushing the ball, but still stuck on 3. Looks like it’s coming around, though. And shame on NL pitcher’s asses if it does.

Strider has always struggled with the Mets for whatever reason.

I said exactly that in a post above yours. There’s just no way to know unless he actually tried it. And I think at this point, we all know he won’t.

And I love how you’ve been championing for Grissom to stay in the lineup. His bat-to-ball skill is something this lineup desperately needs with all the swing and miss.

Don’t get me wrong here. I’m not saying he’d hit .330 as an all righty. Heck, might not hit 300. It would take a lot of adjustment to hitting a right handed pitchers slider righty. But his career numbers from the left hand side (not facing lefties while doing so) is sub par at best. A .670 OPS with the lefty/righty advantage favoring you is not good.

He can't keep his pitch count down against them.

That to Volgebach is tied with the pitch that Hoskins destroyed in the NLDS for slowest fastball in Strider’s career.

Yeah, they’re hard to strike out and have a good approach against him.

Do you let Strider come back for the 4th? Top of lineup coming up for third time.

He probably wouldn't, but there is a pretty solid chance he'd post better than a .670 OPS once he adjusted. It'd be one thing if he was posting a low 700s OPS with a solid BA from the side switch hitting, but he's been posting garbage numbers.

He's obviously going to have great value regardless as long as his defense stays at a high level, but he's basically a platoon player once his defense slips a bit.

He definitely shouldn't. The top of the order has smashed him around both times as is.

Acuna is locked in. Down 0-2, fouls off two really good pitches and then hits one on the button back up the middle.
