They see the Phillies uniforms and get spooked for whatever reason.

That’s the advantage of winning your division and being the overall 1 seed

Being off a week heading into the playoffs while your opponents are playing in playoff games is not ideal

Well looking back at the game 1 thread, I though that was the only game in the series.

Haven't yet in this series, and got 1 run off of Wheeler in 15 innings in Truist in the regular season.

Also, Fried looks like shite.

Welp it was a great season folks. Another abrupt and early post season punch out courtesy of the Phillies. Sucks we lost our mojo and are playing like pussies. Oh well.

Should be 2-2 now

Instead it’s a walk for the 9 hole hitter

Expect more high heat from every Philly pitcher.

quote:

Thomson managed last postseason in an aggressive fashion. This time, he has more weapons. The Phillies chased velocity when building their bullpen and, in preparing to face the Braves, they identified it as a potential method to neutralize one of the greatest lineups ever constructed. The Braves slugged .512 on pitches 96 mph or slower. They slugged .396 on pitches 97 mph or faster. It wasn’t everything, but it was something.

He usually sits at 92-93 and gets up to 96+ when he needs it. I'm not worried about that with him like I am when I see Strider's numbers down.

Fried can't throw strikes tonight. That's the bigger issue.

To be fair that is pretty normal for any team. Higher velocity = better pitcher outcomes generally
