Fair enough. I'm not trolling. I just think thats a remarkable opinion. We've been villainized so much that the thought of the Astros being "preferred" to win was surprising.

I don't really think the umps have a preference. I think they just need to do a better job than spotting the opposition 1.5 runs every game, regardless of who is catching.

Anyone know how a former president affects traffic? He should land his helicopter midfield.

Unless you're going to the game or the Battery I would recommend sheltering in place like it's a major storm

But seriously, 285/75 traffic is about to put on a CLINIC this weekend

Astros will win this series, if for no other reason than the collective strength of their arm barn.

Kulpa was actually pretty good last night.

And Max didn't pitch that bad. He was BABIP'd to death.

Max is not a #1. He doesn’t have the makeup. And there’s too much velo difference between his fastball and his curveball for it to be his strikeout pitch. He needs to throw that slider more and work all off-season on developing a change he can move in and out to both LH and RH hitters.

Just wanted to post that I acknowledge that the Astros got more calls last night on balls and strikes, but it seemed like a bunch of those were of two varieties :

1) Braves pitcher missed the spot badly and D’Arnaud looked like a spaz just trying to catch it. In fact there was one walk where the pitch was clearly easily in the zone but it was way off the spot and the batter took the base before even hearing the ball 4 call. This seemed like a combination of pitchers really missing their spots at key moments and D’Arnaud just not being very smooth back there.

2) Astros pitchers slightly missing spots just off the plate but framed nicely by Maldy and resulting in strikeouts.

If you add those up it willl look lopsided, but that’s not the full story. It’s like looking at Albies stat line from game 1.

Also, I’ve never seen the good fortune go heavily for 1 team in game 1 then completely flip to the other team in game 2. I hope luck plays a lesser role in the remaining games…should be a good series!

He had no feel for his curve for the first two innings.

Unfortunately, that seems to always be the issue with his early inning struggles.
