Braves have gone from bottom 5 in defensive efficiency to top 5 since they started shifting more than anyone in the league outside of LA and Tampa.
People only notice it when it bites you but they have prevented pretty much every pulled groundball in the playoffs from getting through.

I remember the Braves of the 90's shifted defense to their pitching without the ridiculous shifts of today
The Astros get beat on it nightly
The Braves just put the 2nd baseman behind 2nd and threw an outside corner pitch and had it hit exactly where the 2nd baseman should have been
We give up 2 runs, because we can't correctly position infielders, not because the pitcher did anything wrong

Remember they weren’t shifting Pollock last night and he hit a lazy groundball through the infield that would’ve been an out with the shift in the Bellinger inning.
