A lead off HR for Acuña today would be nice.

Shut that place the hell up and put a crooked number on Nola early.

Ok, now how about the last 2 months? That's a tad more relevant.

Contreras post all star break has been swinging at everything. The whole reason Ozuna is in the lineup is because Bill has been an automatic out against righties unless he gets lucky enough to run into a fastball.

It's not that complicated.

Sometimes I feel like Braves fans want players to be better/be performing better than they actually are (Culberson, Teheran, Camargo, Heyward towards the end). Ozuna isn't very good and has still been better than Wild Bill of late. Sucks, but its true.

Heyward

Ahh the good old days. When many Braves fans wanted to sign Heyward long term because of his right field defense.

I don’t see a reason to limit Strider to 2-3 innings unless he’s feeling discomfort again

I don't even think Ozuna is a head and shoulders better option. Both hitters right now are either home run or bust in my eyes. But the idea that Contreras should be DHing because he "grinds AB's" when the dude hasn't drawn a walk since August is ludicrous.

Seems like you've forgotten about that sweet opening day HR against the Cubs in his 1st game

I have no dog in this Contreras v Ozuna DH fight. Just wanted to note that Contreras drew a pretty critical walk in Game 1 but that douche bad umpire refused to call it.

Anyway, I think you have to just look at matchups with Ozuna and Contreras and make the best decision you can. They both are inconsistent at best right now so there probably is not a clear right or wrong answer in general.

Only thing I'm worried about is a rusty Strider not able to pitch efficiently, which is especially important if he is on a pitch count. He has had a couple of starts in August and September where he wasn't giving up a run, but his pitch count would be at 50-60 by the 3rd inning. If we can squeeze 4 solid innings out of him, I feel good because our bats can light up that hitter-friendly park.

Good. We had our rest. Now it’s time to stay hungry. Every game is do or die mentality.

Braves need to jump on them early. Kill the crowd.

Great AB from Olson... here's hoping the infield RBI single will bust Riley out of his slump

Not a fan of Riley swinging at the first pitch there.

Would've been nice to scratch one across and give Strider some cushion before stepping on the mound. Dansby and Riley are killing us right now.

Yeah im on the side of wanting to make Nola throw 18 pitches an inning and get him out of there so they have to use their bullpen as soon as possible. Nola has been killing it lately.
