How does any team ever send a turkey tosser like Bryce Elder to ever pitch a game?

You don’t have to have a perfect team but you have to at least give yourself the best chances to win matchup wise.
If Harper hits that off Hand/Minter that’s one thing, but allowing Harper to face Elder there is absolutely fricking brain dead shite.
This isn’t June 15. Elder has a place as an innings eater but him getting through Schwarber/Harper once was miracle enough, you absolutely cannot allow him to face Harper there under any circumstance.

That’s the problem with only having 1 left-handed specialist in the pen. You just never know when to use him. Obviously, in hindsight, I wish we’d have used him there. But if Harper rolls over to 1st base there, we may be glad we still have Hand for later. We may still go on to win the World Series, but AA did a terrible job of constructing this bullpen.

Felt like we were betting it all on Strider/Fried and trying to steal this one. I still can’t believe we let Elder pitch to Harper.
