Something is a little off with this list.

The only way you can make the argument that Ozzie shouldn't be on the list is because of his defense, but the fact that Mookie tops the list shows that this weighted heavily on plate production, so there is no excuse to not have Ozzie on there.

Even worse when you see fricking Matt McClain and Zac Gelof on there.

ETA: The only thing that makes sense is that AA called in a favor to his MLBN buddies to keep him off the list so he doesn't feel as bad about swindling Ozzie with his current contract.

Someone explain this move to me. I’m not super familiar with either player.

Looks like we gave up nothing to take a flyer on a dude who is more than likely nothing, but AA is giving him a shot in the spring to see if he can be a fifth OF. Basically filling the Sam Hilliard/Forrest Wall role last season.

Fan fest looks slammed today. Anyone make it down? We tried first thing this morning but no parking to be had, it was more of a cluster than any game I've been to including postseason.

We were gonna go w/my brother and SIL and their two little girls, but decided that it was just too wet. So we went to the indoor jump house in Kennesaw and lunch at Mellow Mushroom across from KSU instead.

I heard that it was packed.

Former Braves 3B coach and Red Sox, Jays, and Astros manager Jimy Williams passed away yesterday morning at 80.

Prayers to his family and for the repose of his soul. RIP.

From
MLBTR-

quote:

The Braves announced their slate of non-roster invitees to spring training Friday, and while the majority of names within have already been reported or announced over the course of the offseason, there are a few notable names revealed within today’s release. Former Astros and Blue Jays closer Ken Giles, who recently worked out for teams, will be in camp after inking a minor league pact. Former Reds infielder Alejo Lopez and former Royals catcher Sebastian Rivero have also signed minor league contracts with non-roster invitations.

No news. But pitchers and catchers just showed up. We’re getting close.

Acuna was named the best current player in baseball by MLBN.

The Braves had the most of any team in the top 100.

This could just be to see if he can do it to serve as a backup in case of an in game injury during the regular season, but I also wonder if it might be to showcase him for a potential trade to shed some money?

“ Ozuna playing 1B”

I heard on one of the broadcasts last season that Ozuna was working with Freddy Washington to be a possible first basemen.

They said, Ozuna felt it would make him more valuable.

Lol no. We won’t be making any moves this year that are financial-first.

It's pretty cool that even our backups are top 50 players.

Apparently Strider was throwing a curveball today.

Also, Harris led off today and homered on the first pitch he saw.
