I mean, meh? He was a part of the Angels player dump to try to save some payroll last season after the White Sox moved him there mid-season, and got picked up by the Guardians. We will see I guess, but if he was worth a shite one of those three wouldn’t have dropped him. It is more of AA’s bargain bin shopping hoping something will hit. Hopefully he is serviceable at a minimum.

Feels like the "we like him as a starter or reliever" talk is purely a negotiating tactic for other starters on the market.

Bummers struck out 12 per 9 last year. Lopez 11.3. Would have been 2nd and 3rd on last year’s team after Strider. Love that we are adding bullpen guys that miss bats.

Why? He was a starter earlier in his career. I’m sure he’ll wind up in the pen, but I like making Elder have to earn that 5th spot and letting AJSS and Waldrup get a little more fine-tuning in Gwinnett. And he’s insurance in case of injury. I still think we sign a very good SP too.
And where’s Ynoa at? He was our ace the 1st half a few years ago. That was an injury and the sticky stuff removed, though.
