Tommy Cassanova was odd though.

TOTAL a-hole. He grabbed my mother by the hand at a party one night (back when she was like 17) in Cincinnati and started walking upstairs with her saying "C'mon, let's go."

My mom slapped the frick out of him in front of everyone. He left the party.

Coolest: Jose Bautista of the Jays. Met him at the Bama game this past season (Marruci brought in a bunch of his guys that use his bats).

Cool: Eric Martin, and quite a few others

Not Cool: Can't really think of one, but I know that I've met a few...

I used to play ping pong with his son all the time. The dude had some serious skills! He wasn't nearly as tall as his Dad, but he's still a big fella!

Coolest:

1. (1980) Ali - stood up in the gally on a plane to Washington DC and entertained us for hours. Bunch of guys huddled around him.
2. (1991) Dr. J - gracious guy.

D-Bag: (1992) Dan Marino

Met Shaq at the P-Mac. He seemed like a genuine guy.

Met Phil Jackson in the Mizzoula, MT airport. My family was on vacation and so was his. He was still coaching the Bulls at that point. He had shaven his goatee - probably so nobody would recognize him.

But I did. And I got his autograph.

I remember him being much taller than I expected.

Also shook Tommy Hodson's hand outside of TS once. That was a childhood highlight of mine.

Cool: Charles Barkley, Jason Garrett (when he was playing), Charlie Waters, Jay Novacek.

Shy: Dirk Nowitzki. Met him in a bar after a preseason game his rookie season. He barely spoke English then. Glad I got him to autograph my ticket!

Jerks? Only a couple of LSU football players I had classes with when I was in school.

Seems Reggie Bush=D-Bag is a pretty popular theme here. Really no surprise at all considering he got thrown out of a Playboy party

I've met many college football players over the years during Senior Bowl week. George Teague and Steve McNair were very nice.

Mark McGwire

Seen his name a few times now. I had an experience with him when I was 15 in Oakland. After the A's whipped the red sox a new a-hole. Mcgwire, Steinbach, and Hendu all had shots out of the park. Canseco stole a bag and Carney was 3-4. Anyways.....

After the game we went to the players parking lot for autographs and mcgwire comes out in his porsche. He slows like he would sign a couple so I walked over, he all of a sudden peels off in first and damn near almost hit me.

Dave Stewart was very nice and signed a few but never got out of his Bronco. I didn't get one. Only thing that would have made that day better was to see him pitch.

Nice: Joe Namath, Marcell Dareus, Freddie Roach, Mark Teixeira, and pretty much every wrestler I've met.

Haven't had any assholes, most are just cold or indifferent. Only thing that came close was Bob Wickman promising to come back out pregame to sign autographs, but never came out again...
