Teheran and Viz are just gonna hang around in the minors?

Huddy- signed through 2012
Lowe- signed through 2012
JJ- not going anywhere
Hanson- same
Beachy- showing well so far

I would rather have those two in the future than Pence now.

Well prepare to be disappointed, your team is very interested in a player you will have to over pay for (Buster Olney)

Viz will be moved to the big league bullpen for the stretch run this year. He still needs to develop a few more pitches to be an effective big league starter, he'll do that in the minors next year.

There is no way both Lowe and Jurrjens will be Braves next year. Teheran will take that spot.

Frank Wren isn't thinking about the future. He's thinking about this year and how to get to the playoffs (which barring disaster should happen) and ultimately to the WS. The team has a need and he should be willing to give up a solid prospect or two to make that happen.

The need is CF, not an overperforming corner outfielder.

Brah...right now...right now. Minor could go head to head with Roy Halladay but the Braves are so stacked even he can't get in. He'd be the Astros ace right away.

When the hell did anyone say anything resembling that? Pence is probably worth more than just Minor. He isn't worth Teheran though. Anyone with half a brain will tell you the same. But continue with the sarcasm if it makes you feel smarter.

Pence won't yield someone like Teheran, who, if he ever were to be traded, would garner a top flight player like Fielder (random example). The Astros should stick by their guns and only trade Pence if they're blown away. Giving him up for Minor and some mid-level guy isn't worth it -- might as well keep him. His salary is increasing, but it's not like he's terribly expensive and old.

I'm sure everyone realizes that.

which would obviously be a prospect like Teheran or a package around Viz

I hope Ed Wade is thinking this as well.

I wonder what the Phillies or Indians would be willing to give up ?

There are obviously other possible prospects and packages out there.
