Team has been winning since Schafer who is a worse Bourn has been in the line-up.

I think they can win even more than McLouth hitting 8th and Prado, Heyward at the top of the lineup. Schafer is worse than a replacement player. They win in spite of him because they have great pitching and an otherwise solid lineup.

If Cleveland would offer Drew Pomeranz (1 percent chance of that happening) and throw in Nick Weglarz and Cord Phelps, the Stros would jump at it in a heartbeat. Every seller is talking to Cleveland and asking about Drew Pomeranz, but that seems to be the only player that the Indians will NOT let go of. Cleveland is likley going to try to make a lesser deal with SD for Ludwick or Wash for Morse. If I had to guess, the Braves will give up prospects or Boston may enter a three way trade to dump either/both JD Drew and Mike Cameron to somehow get their paws on him.
Cleveland badly could use Pence and could lock him up as a franchise player because:
a) Sizemore is injured and likely done with his prime and the club won't pick up his next option
b) Choo is injured until September
c) Could eat the salaries of either Duncan, Buck, or Kearns and not feel like they lost much to make room for Pence. None of those three has any trade value unless Buck is the end piece of a three man deal.

What about Alex White ? Mike Cameron is a
Marlin btw.

Stros should know that by offering to trade Pence is not going to get a return of any big leaguers. This would be stricly A and AA prospects. Houston is in TOTAL rebuild mode if they get rid of Pence, as he's a spring chicken, too. So just so you know Stros fans...you'll get a great deal but you'll be lucky to even get one AAA prospect. This is serious restructuring if you get rid of a young franchise-type player. This isn't Carlos Lee II.

Hope we keep Pence, at least he's trying this year.

RT @pgammo: Astros cannot find requisite 3-4 player offer for Pence.. Likely staying. Wandy market hurt by AL teams wary of NL pitchers

The hell is that supposed to mean? Just look at that monster curve
And as much as I love Hunter, it is better for our organization to trade him and get prospects. But, if in typical Wade fashion, the players we get for him end up being a bust, I'll be and

So the Tigers don't think that Wandy is better than Rick Porcello, Brad Penny or Charlie Furbush ? Verlander is finally putting it all together to match up with any AL pitcher out there. This is the year they should go for it. If I was a Tigers fan I would want both Bourn and Wandy and I wouldn't mind sending Jackson and one of those young lefties in the farm system back in return for the two of them.
I don't know maybe I'm being an Astros homer but right now Bourn >>> Jackson IMO. And if Leyland is stuck on batting Cabrera and VMart 4th and 5th and not 3rd and 4th it just makes more sense to me that you would want the guy who is going to be on base a whole lot more in Bourn to get that offense running.

Bourn is without question better than Jackson

i just can't see how Pence is worth this much. i understand HOU wants to get a frick ton for him, but it's no secret that despite his numbers he's still nothing more than just a solid ball player.

he's a bit more than solid

All this is setting up for, is getting our hopes up. Then Wade will trade Pence for Cosart and two nobodys and we'll all be pissedoff

He's a legit 5 or 6 hole hitter on a championship caliber team IMO. 28 years old, under contract for a couple more years so hes not just a 3 month rental.

sorry i meant more in the context of how the Astros view him/are treating him - as the face of a franchise/every year All Star/clean-up guy

Maybe he's better than him today, but I'd much rather have the 4 year younger $440K Austin Jackson, than the $4.4/M man Michael Bourn over the long haul...
