He's been a bad owner for a decade now.

Arthur Blank might be the most clueless owner in the league, which says a lot.

A summary of the game in two weeks:

quote:I would think that’s likely for a coach who’s the opposite of charismatic, doesn’t call particularly good games, and alienates his star players. Robinson and Pitts sure aren’t going to grind for that guy
if there's evidence players are tuning him out
quote:I mean…they lost in consecutive weeks to a QB who was given a copy of his team’s playbook 5 days earlier and one of the two worst teams in the NFC with a QB playing for the first time in 11 months. What else do they have to do to unravel?
or the team completely unravels
If they look like arse against the Saints following the bye they’ve tuned out and absolutely nothing is stopping them from unraveling. They’d be dumb to not get a head start on the search at that point. Patience is for uncertainty, not when it’s clear he’s not the answer
NO x2
CAR
TB
CHI
IND
NYJ
No excuses to not win 4 of these 7, this is as easy as it gets to close a season. If behind the scenes the org isn’t telling him “Division or Bust” with them 1 GB there’s something seriously wrong

Take everything in the post above and apply that to Dennis Allen.

Throw in McKay as well.

Smith isn’t the problem.
Try lining up with Ridder and Heinke.
On the other hand, if he is responsible for drafting Pitts and London….

He definitely isn't a solution. His personnel packages are odd and he thinks he is the smartest person in any room he walks into. Just ask him. They took skill players with top 10 picks in three straight drafts and seem content to use them as decoys (although Pitts and London both struggle to get open and look like terrible picks). They have zero big play ability on offense. One of the most staggering stats about this team is that Jonnu Smith's 60 yard TD on that screen pass against Minnesota was the only touchdown they have scored all season outside the red zone.
Smith insists on having big pass catchers, and that seems like the only trait he looks for. None of them have route running and separation ability. If you take skill players in the top 10, they need to be gamebreakers and none of them are.
Also, I don't care who the RB is. If you draft one in the top 10, you should be fired on the spot, especially if you're not a Super Bowl contender.

The falcons are just a disaster, it is really hard to pinpoint the blame but really everyone is to blame.
Everyone involved with drafting TE-WR-RB needs to be fired, let's just start there. That is not a winning formula and if anything has massively set us back, we have wasted 3 years and do not have a better roster to show for it.

They drafted Ridder in the 3rd and signed Heinike so I don’t see how they get a pass for lining up with them when they chose to line up with them.

I disagree. He's gotten a wonderful stadium built, runs a hip organization, is loyal to his coaches and GM's (which will pay off in the long run).
I would argue he's easily been a top 10 owner. Even if Smith doesn't work out, it was analytical hire that was widely praised.

He's a terrible owner.
