So it's OK if the University of Miami pays their admin and coaches a ton?

He's criticizing the hypocrisy of someone like Bilas trashing people who make their living off the backs of unpaid amateur athletes.

It just continues ESPN's really odd itch to ruin amateur sports, something that their network makes a killing on. Maybe that's why ESPN is getting back into the NHL?

Also, I’m struggling to understand Yeracheck’s point.

The point is that if athletes need to be paid for their likeness, who makes more off that likeness? The college that many times doesn’t even run in the black? Or the multi billion dollar business that puts their likeness on TV every night?

Literally his entire 2 million salary is possible and built on the backs of athletes who don’t get paid

But yet he throw arrows at emmert about the ncaa making bank on those same athletes.

It’s kinda a people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones kinda thing.

It’s not stupid. Bills is capitalizing on the back of the players the same as anyone else. The difference is Bills is a hypocrite.

Would that private company even exist without college sports? Would Billas even have a job if it wasn't for college sports?

Moronic comparison.

You're right, it is.

The University of Arkansas provides a free college education, training, nutrition, housing and medical care. Bilas' $2 million salary off the efforts of college athletes is purely exploitative.

Y’all are going out of your way to be critical. The point is obvious - the NCAA does not control coaching salaries anymore than they control the media salaries. Jay’s original point was stupid, so it was thrown back at him.

Wait, does the Arkansas AD think Jay’s original point wasn’t sarcasm?

You think Jay Bilas, a lawyer, honestly believes the NCAA can control coaches and AD’s salaries?

Jay Bilas @JayBilas Notice that Emmert didn’t ask for limits on what coaches and administrators can make. Nor did he ask for “guardrails” on the NCAA in selling athletes for billions. He just asks for help in limiting what athletes can be allowed.

Did I say that?

Words have meaning though. Point to the sarcasm in that statement. He was making an observation followed by a point. But he wasn’t being sarcastic.

Jay Bilas doesn't care the NCAA has no control over coaches' salaries. It's an easy whipping boy to make a non-point because he knows most people reflexively hate the NCAA. He thought he could score cheap woke points with no blowback.
