Words have meaning though. Point to the sarcasm in that statement. He was making an observation followed by a point. But he wasn’t being sarcastic.

Just because you don’t get the sarcasm doesn’t mean it isn’t sarcasm. His first sentence is tongue in cheek, he knows the NCAA can’t control what a school pays its employees. He’s pointing out the ridiculousness of the NCAA limiting what athletes can make with NIL.

Y’all are going out of your way to be critical. The point is obvious - the NCAA does not control coaching salaries anymore than they control the media salaries. Jay’s original point was stupid, so it was thrown back at him.

How the frick did shel not get this?

As much as I ball bust shel, he usually isnt retarded

re: Arkansas AD Yuracheck rips Jay Bilas on twitter
I will slowly explain this for shel and others:

The NCAA doesnt control the coaches salaries nor do they control the medias salaries

Jay is mad the NCAA isnt capping coaches making millions on the backs of these poor poor athletes, but Jay is fat and happy making millions on the backs of these poor poor athletes

Jay got owned, pawned, buried, he bleeding, worldstar, you name it. That was SAVAGE

No he’s not.
Yes, he is. It's a shitty comparison.

Oh, "if anyone" it's not the NCAA and NCAA coaches who make millions, it's the outside analysis who isn't part of the NCAA? Ok

quote:

His point is that Bilas constantly bitches about people making money off college athletes
His point is the NCAA specifically is raking in billions and paying a shite ton of dudes millions but doing everything they can to make sure the players don't get paid. That's the point.

Moronic comparison.

Bills works for a private company where as coaches and administrators work for public institutions which have a regulatory body which only wants to regulate the student athlete while ignoring everyone and everything else.

Bilas and his company are in bed with those institutions. Jay Bilas is a Tier-1 virtue signaler. He got called out, and quite well.

You are correct in what Bilas is doing.
Yura is just point out that Bilas happens to be one of the “dudes” being paid “a shite ton” off these players work.
There is hypocrisy here that he’s saying, yeah they should be paid. But obviously not out of ESPNs or his pot. Just out of the NCAAs. While the reality is both are exploiting the players.

Is Yura missing the point that he’s actually validating the claim players should be paid?
Yes undoubtedly. Kinda like how you ask a benign question and they respond how’d you know that and you’re like I didn’t til just now.

But is he wrong that Bilas is a hypocrite? No. He’s right.
Jay has made his bills off unpaid labor just like the NCAA guys he’s complaining about.

re: Arkansas AD Yuracheck rips Jay Bilas on twitter
Exactly how are the student athletes getting exploited? Last I checked, none of these players got shanghaied into playing for these schools at the point of a gun.

"If you would like to play football or basketball, we are offering a free education as well as room and board. If the terms of that agreement are too onerous, feel free to not accept the offer."

But, let's be frank here. If the demographics of college football and basketball weren't what they are, Bilas wouldn't utter a peep. This is nothing more than classic liberal race-baiting and class envy hucksterism with a whole lot of "look at me!" virtue signaling mixed in.

Jay Bilas always complains about the little guy not getting enough. But he wants the big programs only when it comes to certain tournaments and pay. He does not realize if they pay specific people the whole department is going to have to pay. There will be schools that can't do this, including Power 5 and it is just stupid.

Players are given Pell Grants, apparel, housing, food, if live off campus scholarship checks to cover housing and food. I am not really sure what he believes what he is spouting, he just wants to be the first.

The point is that if athletes need to be paid for their likeness, who makes more off that likeness? The college that many times doesn’t even run in the black? Or the multi billion dollar business that puts their likeness on TV every night?

Exactly, the fallacy that the NCAA is making "Billions" off these kids as Bilas says when the vast majority of schools lose money is more ludicrous than anything Yeracheck said.

Coaches salaries are ridiculous but you could cut them by half and still the vast majority of school's athletic departments would be losing money. These guys constantly get away scott free with blatant misleading information. Glad to see someone is trying to call Bilas out on it. Dude oozes arrogance and condescension, and always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Should not have to mislead if he's so damn smart.

Bilas is the go-to spokesman for this class envy virtue signaling because most journalists ( ) and TV talking heads are easily wowed by a law degree. BTW, has ESPN mentioned lately that Bilas has a law degree? From Dook University!?

Will anyone ever ask Bilas if his law school was paid for by himself or was it part of employment with Duke Basketball. So he directly benefited from the players and their likeness while at Duke and a student.
