Are there certain things that are taboo for coaches to say to refs?

We all see some pretty heated coach/ref interactions. Very few of these result in penalties.

I've always wondered if the coaches ever ask the refs if they have money on the game. Do you think this is unspoken off-limits or does it happen regularly?

I remember when gottfried was at bama and he was arguing about a call to to a ref. Then, he said "i'll send you the tape" then got a technical.

Not sure if its taboo but I always thought it was funny.
