IDk if this is the right thread but... Sunday Night CFB>>>>>>Sunday Night NFL
NFL playoffs beats the ever living shite out off Bowl Season. We are on a college board though, and you guys love to shite on the NFL. Yet it destroys college in ratings and is the superior product.

He's not wrong. There's a ton of parity right now. Baylor getting beat by Liberty, USC surviving Western Michigan, Maryland beating Texas, Michigan beating Florida, etc. The last 4 champs have been Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State. That's pretty good IMO. There's always going to be blue bloods in CFB but they can fall off a cliff like NFL teams can, it just takes longer (see USC, Texas, Notre Dame).

For me I think they are. Most know jack shite about the fundamentals and are just drunk meatheads in 3XL jerseys
This is not an absolute, as I'm sure there are knowledgeable NFL only fans in places where CF is traditionally less important, like perhaps NYC.
I found myself thinking the same thing the other night though. Where there's smoke...

You have to put this in the perspective of the number of teams in NCAA though and compare this with the number of NFL franchises.
In that sense, CFB is so top-heavy it's laughable.

. i think it may have something to do with college is individual players making big time plays, nfl is more about coaches making good calls

Yeah, good luck getting an explanation on that one.

Similar to the Saints vs LSU. You see people every day wearing Saints gear that really dont know crap about football, but can name most the key starters. To follow college the same way you have to listen to talk radio and read.
Well we have our answer.

Fwiw. There are plenty of College Football fans that are clueless about football. Living in Louisiana, I've had to ignore quite a few LSU ones, & Saints fans as well. They definitely exist.

I live in Maryland.
I had two choices for entertainment this weekend:
Tulane at Navy (where I'm going)
Eagles at Redskins
I'm a fan of the Redskins - and yet this was a decision I made in about 2.4 seconds. NFL games are more of a hassle than ever, and it seems like in the NFL there are too many people living vicariously through their teams.

I think I just identify with college fans more.
Tons of young people at games. Tons of girls. Seems like more, idk, nice looking families at games. Seems like more really nice older folks than at NFL games. More good ol' boy money having type people(not that I really identify with that).
Then you have the ridiculous rednecks and trashy folks. Mom went to Ole Miss and her side of the family are all farmers in Mississippi. Dad and his family are all from Anniston, Alabama. I'm used to being around those type people
NFL only fans for the most part are just, gross.

By far. Have you ever talked to the common Cowboy fan? In general NFL fans are terrible and aren't able to tell you more than who their starting QB and RB are.

After just watching that Alabama-FSU father and son brawl (and hitting a woman), I'm not too sure.

Maybe they've outgrown piss balloons and drunk student sections.
