Are fans going to hate Trae Young as much as they hate James Harden?

Trae Young is currently averaging over 15 FT attempts per game.

He is 6’1”.

Playing lights out this season which will definitely garner more attention, but man, some of the foul calls he’s getting even early in the season are generous. And I say that as someone who wants him to play well and succeed. Steve Nash complained about it tonight in the Nets-Hawks game saying “that’s not basketball” with the way Trae was drawing fouls.

Both have incredible offensive games and struggled defensively at points in their career. Interested if anyone thinks Trae may receive the same level of vitriol Harden did if the Hawks start to win games.

Basketball talent aside, Trae seems to be a likable guy. Harden has the personality of a towel and only cares about strip clubs.

I think people hate Boom’s schtick more than they actually hate Harden. At least on here

More likely that fans start to say they won the Doncic trade first.

Bingo. I never thought much about Harden until having to endure years of Boom's relentless manlove. Now I'm so triggered by him so much I despise the entire state of Texas not just Harden.

Haven't watched the Hawks this year. Is the doing the bullshite where he acts like he is shooting immediately when someone tries to go over on a screen? If so, yes frick that call.

Harden has made more free throws than field goals during his NBA career.

Yep.

This is what trae will have to do get hate like harden.

1. Perennial all nba guy.
2. Perennial advancer in playoffs.

It will take a few years at minimum.

Right now he is just the lil guy putting up monster numbers on a team who isn’t a threat.

no player is the nba can match harden when it comes to “before the season even starts pencil this guy into round 2 at minimum”. I am sure some would say bron, but I also remember bron in LA when he said he was going into “playoff mode” and they went something like 3-12 that disqualifies him from this conversation.

Every good young NBA player seems likable in their first few years, it never lasts
