Would be hilarious. The exact thing this expanded playoff was meant to do, crown a single champion, those bozos might fail to accomplish. They over-thought it

If Bama wins a slug fest and fsu blows out UGA it’s possible. Unlikely but I could see the ap pissed at the committee and doing it to spite them.

If Fla state blows out Georgia they need to be Natl Champs. That can’t happen with a back up qb in my opinion but Fla st defense is capable of shutting down Ga offense. Georgia is the best team in the country barring a bad game against Ala. Fla state with their starting qb was also likely better than any of the 4 teams in the Championship series and maybe even with their back up qb Fla st is better than an Auburn team who nearly beat Ala two weeks ago.

Or they could just vote Bama #1 regardless of what happens on the field.

A repeat of the 2003 AP champion not aligning with the agreed-upon process could happen but I don’t think it’s likely. In the 2003 season, AP voters were butt-hurt because the BCS ranking system diminished the power they had for decades.

AP voters would use a lot of the eye test to name a champion since the top teams didn’t have to face off in the post season. The playoff committee applied the eye test and it seems like a lot of the media (i.e. AP voters) are going along with it. The AP just doesn’t seem to have a problem with FSU being replaced with Alabama.

But! USC was named the AP #1 after beating Michigan in a bowl game. Michigan was ranked #4 at the time, I think, so an impressive FSU victory over UGA might start the conversation. The victory would have to be pretty convincing though.

FSU with a back up QB isn't as good as bama, but they are better than ga that lost to bama by 3 pts. Selection committee is a joke.

The committee just said objective things dont matter. They will pick who they want.

The blue bloods will continue to benefit, LSU is not in the top group of moneyed programs and will be fricked in the future.

Alabama was gifted the playoff game, they didnt earn it.

FSU with their backup is still better than Auburn.
Bama needed a miracle to beat them.

Stop with this garbage. No they are not. They didn’t only lose their QB. There have two stud LBs that are both wrecked and a top WR out. Not to mention several defensive starters.

That team is completely wrecked and it showed Sat. night. They were lucky to beat Louisville.

Said it in 2003, and will say it again…..the AP doesn’t crown a National Champ. There’s one process that, flawed as it may be, determines THE National Champion and there’s no such thing as a “split” Championship. Will the AP name their ownHeisman player too?

You guys are delusional. I’ll bet anyone on here a Lifetime ban that FSU won’t be voted #1 in 6 weeks

This guy gets it. Some people buy designer brands despite being inferior. The selection committee bought bama and didn’t bother to look at the product

“ They were lucky to beat Louisville”

Enough with this. I don’t know who you guys think you are to discount a neutral site win by double digits over a top 15 team. They took a mercy knee to end it deep in Louisville territory. Fsu was ready to play, and really earned it. It’s past time to give Norvel and his players a tip of the cap for Saturday night

New Mexico State prison fricked Auburn.

FSU with a shitty 3rd string QB beat a top 15 Louisville.

that defense gives them a puncher's chance in any game they play.
hell if anyone knows that a defense can carry a bad offense, it should be LSU fans.

Both teams had 19 yards of total offense and 11 punts in the first half. The water boy could have been an upgrade to the Louisville QB.

No doubt the committee based their opinions on that game alone.

If FSU can beat Georgia by more than three points, it will be the second common opponent that fsu will have defeated by more points of the University Alabama, the other being LSU

Sure, sure.

FSU is gonna blow out the defending national champ with a third string QB

Man they put up 16 on Louisville.

Georgia will crush them and end this nonsense.

Hell if LSU played them again they'd stomp them
