Coach Royal told us, when asked what do you have to do to be the head football coach at Texas, and he said, there is such a diverse group that follows this football team that you have to pull them all together and that is very difficult to do. He said when you get them all together, it's wonderful and it's a powerful place. But when it is not, it is very divided and it is a very difficult place to manage. So he said it's like a box of BBs and the BBs are dropped all over the room and what you got to do is get all the BBs back in the box. And we were able to do that.

Some people can't make the jump from coordinator to coach well, obviously he's one of them. Cough muschamp.

I was a supporter of Charlie last year, but this is bad.

K-State isn't even playing very well and they are winning by 3 scores. Time to end the Charlie Strong experiment. He has lost the team AND the fanbase.

It could be a crazy off-season coaching carousel.

Totally lost the team:
Helfrich
Strong

Probably has lost the team:

Brian Kelly

Probably never had the team:

Clay Helton

(Strong is most likely the one gone)

Helfrich might save his job because it's Oregon and not Texas - it took Oregon 40 years to realize they sucked and maybe they should do something about it.

I don't buy the millionaire excuse.

Yes, he gets paid a lot. He also has his dirty laundry aired publicly on a weekly basis. He probably deals with more negative criticism than we could imagine. The hours he works are more than your typical 9-5 job. He is surrounded by the drama of college students on a daily basis. He has to kiss arse of boosters, HS coaches, and recruits in an effort to stock up a roster.

It pays a lot of money because not many people can do it. Then again, I'm sure the armchair coaches of the MSB can put up with that just fine...

He did a great job at Louisville and failed at Texas. It happens! Not everybody is Saban, Meyers, and Harbaugh. Those guys seem to be the Trinity of college football. I'm sure not saying holy. lol

If he takes a knee during the national anthem before the next games there's NO WAY they would have the balls to fire him.
