Tirico knows every tidbit about everything across multiple sports.

That has been his problem, really. He is not as bad anymore but he really used to be annoying when he would try to either throw out random things mid game or go on about a specific detail that wasn't really important. He would also try to painfully correct analysts unnecessarily. I think he's gotten much better though and doesn't seem to be as anal, but to say he's the Morgan Freeman of sports is laughable. He's solid but not great.

I like his commentary. I don't like his actual play by play, though. He knows his stuff, but I don't like how he describes what's happening.

Tirico has had some of my favorite calls ever:

Gleason block
Bynum taking out Barea
Clowney sack/fumble/recovery

Exactly what I'm talking about, Tirico says "delay of game". New Orleans gets the snap off and he says "they didn't call it" and proceeds to call the play. In the middle of the next play, he says "the clock was double zero but they missed the call" to fully explain to everyone why he blerted it out despite no flag. He just over explains too much for my taste. Call the game.

Tirico believes he's better than the game. His call of the Alamo Bowl in 05 was the clincher. Al Michaels is same way.

The best out there right now are
Jim Nantz
Dan Hicks
Vin Scully (GOAT)
Don Criqui

Ian Eagle and Brad Nessler are my fav's right now. Listen to Eagle on SNF radio broadcasts, really good at what he does. Would love for Nessler to replace Uncle Verne. Regionally the guy that does Titans PBP is great also, very unique voice.

Tirico is a true pro and one of the best in the biz. He's the most prepared guy you'll hear in the booth.

Verne is a old hack who should've stuck to golf.
