I love everyone talking shite about Notre Dame, when I guarantee 95% haven’t watched them play a full game.

They have two big WRs with good hands, and one shifty speed guy. They have a big TE with speed. They have an outstanding back in Williams, and two very good complimentary backs behind him. Book is an above average QB who will get draft hype next year.

Notre Dame’s defense is the #11 scoring defense. They usually get gashed the first drive, then lock teams up.

But explain to me how they aren’t good and are soooo weak?

I don't think they'll get destroyed again like in 2012.

I'm not implying that they aren't good. Also, I agree with you that they have talent. However, they are their fair share of dog fights against average teams (Vanderbilt, USC, Pitt).

Can you help expound on more on why this is the case?

They had all of these strengths in 2012 when Alabama crushed them in the BCS National Championship Game. The difference - and the reason why Notre Dame stands no chance - is in the trenches. Alabama was bigger, stronger, and faster on both lines and that still rings true in 2018.

However, does anyone really think they'll do anything in the Playoffs? You can pick any opponent: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, or Ohio State and I can't see Notre Dame keeping it within a two or three touchdown game.

Give me ND and 17 points (splitting the difference between your two and three touchdown suggestion) against anyone you listed except Bama and I’ll get down for any amount you want up to $1000. Say when and how much.

What team, besides Bama hasn’t struggled? I don’t think we can beat Bama, but think we can beat any other team.

Vandy game Wimbush was still QB and the offense blew. Pitt has a 10:30 minute drive, then Book threw an INT, then Pitt had a 7 minute drive, the game was not nearly as close as the score showed. USC is a cross country rival with tons of talent, but serious lack of discipline and coaching, this game was never going to be a blow out.

Can Clemson explain the one score win over Syracuse (team ND beat by 33). Can OU explain losing to Texas and OT against Army? Can OSU explain Purdue and a one score game against Maryland? UGA lost by 20 to a 3 loss LSU, and had a “close game” against 4 loss Mizzou.

No they did not. They had a terrible QB, no offensive weapons and a barely above average defense. It was because of the BCS game with Bama that they changed and realized they needed to recruit better.

This team is WAY more physical than 2012.

Yeah, 2012 was a fluky squad that got a ton of luck. I think this team would give anyone except Bama fits. Hopefully, they get the 2/3 spot and a shot to prove their worth against Clemson.

Vanderbilt could and should have beaten Notre Dame. I'm sorry, but I am not buying into Notre Dame. Michigan is their only legitimately good win and Ohio State wiped the floor with them yesterday.

Everyone (well, except for Bama of course) has had a game like that though. Remember that was Winbush playing QB too.

But if the goal is to get the "four best teams" then they should be seeded accordingly and any objective analysis (at this point) would have them as the fourth best so that's where they should be seeded.

I disagree. Oklahoma defense is historically terrible. Ohio State has looked even worse than ND in many of their games and has a horrible loss. ND should be seeded ahead of either of those teams. Now a potential 1-loss Georgia, Bama or Clemson I could see as a possibility

ND/Clemson will be a close game. With the ND defense and a young Clemson QB, I expect a ND win.

Are you offering everyone Notre Dame +21 for the playoff?

If so, I'm in.

ND is nothing special. They're just undefeated that is all.

Their on paper schedule turned out to be folderol.

They weren't rolling up teams like they should have SC last night.

They beat Michigan, Vandy, Pitt and USC by a fricking TD or less.

The only team they rolled up was FSU which got stomped by Syracuse who lost to Pitt by a TD.

ND is more Syracuse and less Clemson.

They'll have a championship, the same number of wins, and two common opponents. Ohio State already beat one of them worse than Notre Dame, and has the opportunity to do it again next weekend.

That said, I prefer 4th against the Gumps if Ohio State does get in.

Yeah, all this talk is futile.

It's as if everyone is arguing who can go to the gallows quicker.

Ohio State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame aren't beating Bama. And neither is Clemson or Georgia.

So they were overrated in 2012?
