So they were overrated in 2012?
No. They won a national championship in 2012.

Clemson beats ND 7/10 times, but ND can beat them. I think ND can beat Bama 1/20 times.
I actually think ND should be favored over OU and OSU.

Big notre dame fan here. Up until the 2012 national title game i was cautiously optimistic that they can show up in the big game.
However time and time again they choke in the big postseason games. Until they show up in those big games, im not holding my breath.

Not really. Bama would drill them and Clemson would pull away late. JMO

Can Clemson explain the one score win over Syracuse (team ND beat by 33)
Yes, they played their 3rd string QB almost the entire game.

Will be eliminated in the first game

no they will get blown out by either Clemson or Alabama.

I mean, they sell signs that say so.

Gross
Why do they do that?

This means y'all can claim 2016. If the Colley Matrix is good enough for ND then it's good enough for Alabama.

They don't already claim it? If they have no problem claiming 1973, they should be cool with splitting 2012 with Notre Dame, too.
Posted on 11/25/18 at 7:35 pm to TheGasMan
Uh no the 3rd string only played one drive
Posted on 11/25/18 at 7:44 pm to TheGasMan
Cool we played our second string and beat Michigan, and had a close game against Vandy. That’s a shite excuse for the close game. Their QB didn’t allow Syracuse to score either.

Wasn't Colley used for the BCS initially?
And people "loved" the BCS now retrospectively.
Colley has Notre Dame and UCF as National Champions in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
But should Bama complain?
This article explains it.
Plenty of programs claim national titles based on being No. 1 in a single selector.
Alabama’s ludicrous 1941 claim is literally based on one man’s opinion.
Ohio State calls itself 1970’s champion despite the only selector to have the Buckeyes No. 1, the National Football Foundation, also having Texas No. 1.
Texas A&M claims 1927 based on nothing but a computer that came around decades later.
Making up national titles is an ancient college football tradition, and it’s high time we get back to it.
All of the following title claims would remain just as debatable as UCF’s.
1904 Minnesota
1919 and 1927 Texas A&M
1939 USC
1945 Oklahoma State
1950 Kentucky
A whole bunch of Alabama’s!
The Gold Rush for retroactive titles was started by Bama.
In the mid-’80s, Bama went back and added five from half a century earlier, highlighted by the legendary 1941 claim, which is based on a single person’s analysis in a year when the two-loss Tide finished NUMBER TWENTY in the AP Poll.
I respect the gall. NUMBER TWENTY. To #1.
And lets not forget these:
1940 Tennessee
1950 Oklahoma
1951 Tennessee
1953 Maryland
1960 Minnesota
1964 Alabama
1965 Michigan State
1967 Tennessee
1970 Texas
1970 Ohio State
1973 Alabama
If UCF wants to claim it's the National Champion, why not? Bigger schools have spent most their history rewritting it; if Notre Dame wants to claim a National Title over a team they lost to - well Bama already does that - they claim two National Titles over teams they lost to!
ND is just claiming one, fair play.
