Nothing to do with race. Everything to do with geography. Bastrop tried to comply and provide the information that LHSAA wanted, not sweep anything under the rug. But since there are no written guidelines on what to do in this situation, and considering the fact that LHSAA doesn't give a frick about Bastrop anyway, they decided to cut their playoffs on the grounds of "not complying".

Carroll is just ran by a bunch of dumb fricks.

Your comment "most who saw the videos" pretty much shite cans any argument you might have. Did you do some kind of poll or something?

Second the LHSAA admin is dominated by people from NorLa so the old BS "the LHSAA is biased against NorLa schools" is outdated.

Frankly in one fight the two schools followed procedures. In the other the two schools didn't. That isn't racial, that is poor leadership.

I tend to believe its more of the traditional LHSAA hatred of North La teams. More of an anti-regionalist thing.

Kenny Henderson, the LHSAA commissioner, was the principal of Ruston High School before taking over his current position. I'm pretty certain that he would not have an anti-North Louisiana attitude.

if anything, when you look at the executive committee year after year, NOLA is really underrepresented

Parkview, sorry. Most people that saw the films said there wasnt any difference in the actions of the 4 teams. They were all most or less the same.

What is really strange is the fact that there were 4 huge brawls involving LA high school football games on the same night. No other schools were reprimanded as harshly as the Bastrop game.

I don't think "race" played a huge role in the decision. But, politics certainly did. There are too many North LA schools with political clout that do not want a Bastrop team in the playoffs.

That makes no sense

West Monroe is in a different classification than Bastrop

Why the hell would they care if tgey madethe playoffs or not

They compete for the same players. And, anyone that doesn't believe there is competition for players to move from one backwards-arse NELA town to the other for their kids to have a shot at playing on a good football team -- you are sadly mistaken.

The LHSAA took a championship away from Bastrop, and was going to not let many players play the nest year if the Gov. had not step in and talked with the cigar smoking thief that ran the LHSAA at the time. He was really looking out for the students, several would not have received scholarships if he would have had his way.. so I can understand how Bastrop feels..

lhsaa didnt take it away....bastrop players did!!!....i was at that parkview game and saw "everything" that happened from begining to end.....the parkview players remained on the sideline with the exception of a couple of players...bastrop and carroll had a bench clearing brawl......

instead of taking responsibilty their actions, somebody always gotta holler RACE!!!....coward antics........bastrop wanted to be the champs? they shoulda acted like it......

WTF are you talking about? The towns are 30 miles apart. People can live where they want to live and send their kids to school where ever they want. This isn't college and they aren't recruiting against one another.

From what I've read Bastrop did not do what they were asked to do. They were supposed to provide the names of the players and coaches that were involved in the fight. They didn't. The southern schools did. And therefore 16 players were suspended instead of banning the whole team. Maybe if the Bastropians weren't trying to protect their players, then the rest of the team wouldn't have been banned.

Dude. Seriously? If you don't think there are boosters for High school teams that try to recruit 7th, 8th, 9th graders and their families to have their D-1 prospect player attend "their" high school - you are sorely misinformed.

Teams like WM, OCS, Bastrop, Ouachita, and Neville all have strong booster clubs. And they all send 'scouts' to area middle and Jr high games. It happens. Like chalmette said -- there are only so many "good" players. I don't know if the same practice happens in South LA... but, I know for a fact there is competition in North LA for stud players at a very early age.

And for that reason - that is why a school like WM would quickly try to get an advantage over a team like Bastrop when they aren't in the same class.

once again I said:
quote:

People can live where they want to live and send their kids to school where ever they want

Brad Bradshaw is gone

the mill is closed

the Katrina kids are gone

the money in town and the population is slowly drying up

Bastrop is a 5-4 ball club that got smoked 49-14 on their own field by WM on Sept 23

so if you think people are going to move from Bastrop to WM just because the Rams got kicked out of the playoffs by the LHSAA then you might need to step back and re-examine your argument. There are bigger reasons to leave Bastrop than an LHSAA ruling.

so I can say with 100% confidence that not a single care was given in West Monroe when it was announced that Bastrop would not be in the playoffs

do you also think WM fans rejoiced that Carroll was going to miss the playoffs too? Does that mean that Shows and Arledge can run around the center of Monroe recruiting the Carroll kids too? Do you honestly think WM needs to recruit kids? Like families don't already know all about WM football in that area?

If Carroll or Wossman have any good players, they end up at Neville somehow. That's been happening for years.
