SFP, you're better than this. YOu're honestly arguing that grass is not considered "ground."

how do you get your foot "down" on grass?
Posted on 2/2/09 at 9:57 am to SlowFlowPro
The whole part I hate is that if the WR drags the toe going forward he is considered in.
But if he drags the toe going backward and then the heal touches he is considered out.

Okay, I'll play.
2 feet need to touch the ground in bounds for a catch to occur.
Please define how the grass isn't ground.

are we 100% sure that right foot hit the grass ?

No. I'm just astounded how he claims that if it did hit grass, it's "not enough."
Besides, the call on the field was a catch. The burden of proof is to determine that it 100% did NOT touch the ground. No picture or replay has confirmed that yet. So far it looks like a great call to me.

I am not even sure how you can expect that trying to determine between grass and ground is enough to evidence to overturn a call...especially in those circumstances

well assuming it was "grass" only, that would make 3 plays last night which were really hard to interpret
the 2 fumble/incomplete pass situations and that catch
the holdings were obvious and not calling them was horrible, but those 3 calls literally could go either way

i just find it weird that you LITERALLY do not have every replay angle covered in the fricking super bowl ... a shot from the back of the end zone down the sidelines would have been conclusive .. how do you not have that shot ?
eta: i think his foot came down on the back of his calf ..

bart if there's argument about his foot hitting the ground, there is going to be a possibility of grass only
Posted on 2/2/09 at 10:14 am to SlowFlowPro
it was pretty clear his foot hit the ground.
