Considering going this week as I don’t start new job until Monday, has anybody ever been? Anything to look out for?

Difficult hotel weekend. It’s laid back like watching a baseball game. NFL front office and coaches everywhere. The dinner scene is suppose to be the best part.
I just kind of kicked around a bit while there for work.

Is it still free to the public if you know?

I haven't been to one since they moved the practices to South Alabama's stadium.
But I know for my whole life one team would practice at ums wright high School and the other team would practice across the bay at fairhope. And yes it was free.

I've probably been to a half-dozen Senior Bowl games and practices. My dad help create 10-K Thirst Quencher (owned by Kentwood Spring Water) which was one of the corporate sponsors in the late 90's ~ mid 2000's. My brother, some of his CFB teammates at Troy State and I would set up coolers & drink bottles with ice, water, and 10-K. Got to see lots of great CFB players, and NFL coaching staffs. The practices are somewhat boring as players are separated into position groups and learning a very basic playbook before the game. If you go, you will definitely notice 1-2 players who standout and are better than the others. I remember Derrick Brooks and Antwon Randle El being dominant at practice and the game. Very few fans had heard of or witnessed Brian Urlacher in person because he played New Mexico. He was listed at 6'4" 250 lbs., ran a 4.55 FYD, and played Safety (hybrid LB) & a Return Specialist. At the Sr. Bowl, he was a man amongst boys and made plays all over the field. The SrB definitely increased his draft stock.
10-K banner pictured .... that's not the Swagu, just a OL from NW State with the same name

A lot of people on the periphery of the NFL or those trying to break into the league pay their own way looking for jobs. Coaches, analysts, ex-players, wannabe agents, etc.
There’s also plenty of media members there in an unofficial capacity looking to network and make connections.

Not to dissuade you, but the only remaining parking is about .8 miles from the stadium on the far east side of campus. You can shuttle or make the long walk. Traffic is also going to be a mess right before kickoff.
The stadium is really nice and not a bad seat in the place. Gameday is fun seeing all the different fans and tailgating stuff. Weather looks awesome too. Just be aware of the parking situation.

Yeah, because it’s practice.
Don’t confuse that with me saying it’s not necessary or useful. But it’s practice.

I have and it was pretty cool. Saw a bunch of former player and all the coaches are there just sitting around. I highly recommend going.
