I will be here in Houston

Courtside

Well, almost courtside if comparing the distance from my house to the arena to my seat in the arena

It is the best time to be there. The nfl play offs are right after that. Make sure you find a TV early

It’s actually my first visit to Vegas!

Staying at the MGM park.
They have a sportsbook so I’m hoping to get a chair there early.

Might as well root for one of the SEC teams while you are there.

I was in Vegas for opening weekend once. Started in the NYNY sportsbook, and then graduated to the Caesar's sportsbook. It was an amazingly good time. Whoever has money on the same team as you becomes your brother for two hours. When you win, it's like you all are at a hot craps table.

Concept kind of lost its luster when sports betting became available locally.

For anybody coming out I highly recommend signing up for at least one of the sportsbook apps while you’re here. Just deposit your money up front and you can fire off bets from your seat and hit live lines before they become unavailable and you never wait in any lines or miss getting bets in. Then withdraw at the end of the weekend.

It’s pretty small tho. Great hotel. Non-smoking. Eat at Best Friend at least once. For sports book I’d head over to Circa

I have been there for first 2 rounds.

U better get up early as frick to bet the early games. Lines will be packed as soon as the tellers open their machines.

I can remember waiting in line at 630am, Vegas time to get in a long line to make bets

I went a long time ago for opening weekend. I think it was 2000. I have to say, it wasn't ideal as far as betting. I made the mistake of getting to Mandalay Bay an hour before the tournament started and didn't get a sniff of putting my bets in ahead of time. For watching games, every book was either reserved or had guys who slept overnight. I remember MGM did use conference rooms to show games and they had set up temporary betting spots, so that was pretty cool. I enjoyed it a little more when I was there for a Final Four weekend.

I stayed at ParkMGM in the fall. The physical book was OK. They were really pushing you to use the app. I would definitely take advantage of that so you're not standing in line to make your bets. Half of the books in Vegas are now BetMGM, anyway.

Always wanted to go. The past few years (except for Covid, obviously) I have been going to Biloxi for Thursday - Sunday. That’s been a blast, and I can only imagine how much fun Las Vegas is.

It's not as bad now with the apps and some of the sports books have kiosks now as well.

This is the best weekend in Vegas hands down. My friends and I have been going for the opening weekend for 20+ years.

Back when all the major bowl games were on or around jan 1, that would come close to March madness. That's lost it's luster due to the dilution of college bowl season and ever changing formats.

Pre-Covid, I talked my boss into having our quarterly work meeting in Vegas during the opening round and St. Patrick’s Day.

We stayed at the Flamingo right by everything and Jesus, what a scene. It was awesome
