This thread is hilarious on the SEC rant.

If Bama had a sophomore QB, I would say no. Easily, nah, but that Miami team would probably win.

Then they would play 95 Nebraska the next week and get rolled.

95 huskers would get buttfricked bt Saban. Good luck running the option vs Saban

Saban has always struggled against triple-option offenses run by shitty teams, let alone '95 Huskers.

You can't deny it. It's basically flag football today compared to twenty years ago.

Or hell, 10 years ago.

Reminds me of this play.

No ejection.

Not even a flag.

The real question is would sabes walk to the canes sideline and ask for extra coleslaw

Today's Canes play with fewer and smaller players.

Miami would win. Not easily bc Bama plays great defense. But Hurts ain't doing shite against Miami. That Miami team was full of NFL talent. And not the Bama kind of talent where they retire after 2 years.

LSU held Bama to only 10 points with the help of the refs. People really think that Canes D wouldnt pitch a shutout vs Bamas soft O? Wow.

01 Miami is the best team ever. We arent even sure Bama is the best team this year.

That team ultimately produced:
quote:

17 1st round draft picks,
3 2nd round draft picks,
3 3rd round draft picks,
5 4th round draft picks,
2 5th round draft picks,
2 6th round draft picks,
6 7th round draft picks.

Alabama went into the 4th quarter tied 0-0 to a 5-2 LSU team led by a defensive line coach and a tight ends coach calling the offense.

I think we all know who would win....

would depend on that Miami OL, which if i remember correctly, was pretty good.

I believe both of their tackles were first team all Americans iirc

01 Miami had one of the 3 or 4 best offensive lines I've ever seen.

05 Texas, 05 USC and 95 Nebraska are the others

05 USC, 05 Texas, 01 Miami would all give this year's Bama team all sorts of problems.

95 Nebraska is still the best team I have ever seen, but I wonder how the option attack would do against Saban's defense.

Roll them.

Go back and look at Triple-Option teams he's faced in the past with Bama...and how they've given up tons of yards against also-rans.

Saban's D's attack and that's the bane of stopping perfectly blocked TO.

2005 USC struggled on defense though. Although it probably would do well enough against this Bama offense. That's why I think 2004 USC is the standard.

Me too, probably. I think some of the younger posters here might not remember that team. They assume players from 20 years ago wouldn't compare to now.

Bama vs Miami would be a good game.

95 Nebraska vs either team wouldn't be close. Miami played close games. Bama has played close games. 95 Nebraska could name their score against anyone. I don't think younger people realize how good this team was. They also run an offense that you're not normally preparing for. That Nebraska team was just amazing to watch.
