Serbia would beat the 96 team in a one game scenario if you dropped both teams into a game
Everyone on 2024 serbia knows what 96 was like. The 96 team would be lost with what Jokic is doing

Which is why more than twice as many people watched the NBA back then.
You can say this about literally everything on TV.

Jokic is great. He's just not enough to deal with three hall of fame centers that can draw fouls on him.
I don't think 24 Serbia beats 96. That is scorching take territory.

This is the equivalent of saying the wing T is a better offense than the modern spread. It’s just dumb. Games and sports evolve and people mimic it because it’s BETTER. If the new concept was actually worse no other teams would have adopted it
If the 96 style of play was better that’s that teams would have stuck with

The modern game isn’t better it’s just different. It didn’t evolve the changes were manufactured by neutering the defense with rule changes. There’s a reason players like Lebrons numbers have gotten better while his ability has diminished.

The defense is far less neutered now

Guess you’ve never heard of the NFL

Back to Ant's comments, are we really going to say Reggie Miller a 40% career three point shooter didn't have skill? Same about Mitch Richmond? Hakeem Olajuwon? It's pretty crazy.

Of course they did, the game was just played differently. It’s a matter of what players were asked to do not what players couldn’t do.

Pace and space play developed, not because you couldn't win with dominant centers, but because David Robinson doesn't grow on a tree.

The modern game is really entertaining. 1996 combines elements of that game with back breaking rebounding and defense. Reggie Miller, Mitch Richmond, and Scottie Pippen could find plenty enough space and three point shooting to field a modern attack.

90’s NBA was horrible.
All of the great players of the 80’s were gone by 92 outside of Barkley and Olajuwon.
The young rising stars all went to expansion teams until Kobe in the late 90’s went to the Lakers and Duncan went to the Spurs.
There were a lot of good players but not a lot of great players.

Way to intentionally ignore the context that the TV landscape has changed dramatically since the 1990s. Only an ignoramus on your level would think a ratings decline is solely attributable to skill level decline, which itself is hilarious. World Series ratings last year were a third of what they were in the ‘90s. Is that because their skill level dropped off? Cheers’ ratings dwarf the best shows on TV over the last decade. Is it because they don’t make ‘em like Ted Danson anymore?

The rule changes were major and now you have more uncontested shots than ever before in the NBA because there are more missed assignments, less communication and way less effort on D.

One of the reasons the Olympic and World Championship teams were getting smoked in the early 2000’s is because the U.S. was playing NBA-style basketball and the rest of the world was playing what is now considered “modern” basketball.
The NBA changed their rules and players adapted and now the NBA plays a modern style too and reigns supreme once again.

Just looked at the roster to refresh the memories
Yikes. Not trying to undersell Joker here, but stick to tennis buddy.

I didn’t say anything about lack of skill, I said it isn’t as popular. Stop moving the goalpost I didn’t make you put your foot in your mouth.
