How? What's Rush ever said that's racist.
quote:
Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”...
quote:
Rush Limbaugh famously once told an African American caller, and I'm quoting him here, "Take that bone out of your nose." Not exactly a people-of-compassion kind of statement.
I can find more lil statements.lol. Not hard. Like I said if Stephen A Smith, Jamil Hill, Joe Morgan etc are racist then so is Rush.

Well, as I wrote in the original post, I am of the opinion that for Whitlock to excuse Jay Z yet not Rush, it all boils down to the fact that Jay Z is black and Rush is white, so in Whitlock's head, he will make up whatever reasons he needs to to excuse Jay Z.

quote:This statement really bothers me. He raps dumb, sexist remarks but that doesn't bother NBA players? Why? Because that is who they are? What is a reasonable person supossed to infer from this?
Beyonce's boyfriend raps a bunch of dumb, racist, sexist (spit) but serious people don't take Jay-Z or his music seriously. Jay's expression of self-hatred does not bother NBA players, NBA fans or remotely overshadow what transpires on the court.
quote:I have no idea if he is racist or not. But I doubt he had anything to say about Jay Z buying a team on the scale that he has decided to come out against Rush.
So you are calling Whitlock racist?

What about using the N-word in the black community? What about blaming everything on whites for "holding you down".
And I still don't see how any of what he said was racist. The James Earl Ray item is, if he truly said it. But give me proof and from some Lefty website.

You realize that quotes can be taken out of context right? Whitlock even uses some of those quotes in his article but then acknowledges that they are more than likely taken out of context or said jokingly.

Wow..
How about you get some fricking audio before you say the man said something like that.
That's pretty weak.

I really don't see the big deal if Rush owns part of the Rams. He's from there, he used to work in the market, and he obvious would be buying in because he cares about the team.
Yes, it's a labor of love, but it's also a business decision for him, so he's not going to let politics get in the way of making money for him.
I don't agree with what he says, and yes, I do think that the man is a bigot. But so are many other people who are involved with owning or running franchises and colleges (yes, I said colleges...).
If you have enough of a personal issue against Rush owning a team, then boo his team. If you're a player, don't sign with his team. But it's wrong to prevent him from being a part owner simply because one disagrees with his politics.

those are very racial quotes defintely the James Earl one(in no context or in any joke should something like that be said)
i don't care if he owns the rams anyway, and i don't think he hates every black person but he says some racist things sometimes

Show me the audio. Otherwise, everything you've shown me is baseless.
This whole thing is ridiculous. It's always some white person being racist. I'm sick of hearing it. I know a lot of respectful, educated African Americans are getting sick of the "cry wolf" mentality too.

It's a shite storm that the media and the media alone is creating. Show me one, just one, NFL player, coach, or owner who has said how they will be disgusted with their organization if Rush becomes an owner.

I heard the school bus quote in its entirety. It was part of his rant about how "this is Obama's America, where your white children aren't safe anymore".
Sure, he says some things like this in jest, but many of his dittoheads and other idiots take him seriously, and HE KNOWS THAT.
At the least, it's irresponsible.
Like his McNabb comment. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was just trying to be controversial, but again, many of his followers and other idiots out there (like several posters in this thread) take him seriously and believe in the things that he says about race, whether or not he believes them. AND HE KNOWS THAT. HE PROFITS OFF OF THAT. There is a problem with that, IMO.
That said, this is a serious mountain being made out of a molehill. If he wants to be a part owner of the worst team in the NFL, let him.

There's been like 7 players quoted about how bad it would be and that he's a racist, blah blah blah.

Here is a great example of taking a quoted out of context.
Rush was responding to people who said that Obama got elected because 99.7% of black people voted for him (or whatever the % was). Rush was making a point that African-Americans only make up 12% of the population, and most of them vote Democrat in all elections. He was telling Republicans to not use "black people voting for a black man" as an excuse. A whole lot of white folks voted for him also.
I don't know the exact context of the other quotes, but this is how quotes can look terrible when used out of context.

I guess you and I disagree about the between racist statements and provacative statements.
I.E. (something I was told while growing up)
Whites and blacks aren't supposed to marry. It's in the Bible.
I would consider this a racist statement because it goes along with an idea that blacks and whites are not equal
Blacks have been enslaved by their democrat masters who have created a nanny state with welfare.
This is a typical Rush statement, which I would not consider racist, because he is giving his opinion on black culture/politics. just by using words like "slavery" and "masters" IMO doesn't equate to racism.
